3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, wow this is crazy, completely flat and really sweet from the old ale. The flavors are all good but the intense sweetness and boozyness is too much, sorey

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at Fear Tuesday Tasting (Downers Grove, IL). Pours a deep brownish hue, ruby glow and some nice brown glow, a nice firm haziness and darker dulled body letís way. Small frothy tannish head atop dies to a loose ring, laces small and sticks around small. Aromas are a bit acidic, cherries and raisins, sour fruit and mellow brett. Aapple brandy, wet wood and touches of vanilla. Some gentle sweetness, toffee and toast. Initial is firly sour, crab apple and apple brandy, some lactic elements and gentle brett. Fruit apple brandy barrel shows some life, crab apple, lemon, and gentle carmelized and biscuity malts. Some vanilla, tartness. Middle is tart, a bit of warmth starts to hit. Mellow fuzziness, some toffee and toast, carmelized and gentle vanilla. Firm apple acidity and brandy barrel element. Backend is a gentle dryness, subtle Belgian yeast, with subtle bready malt, touches of sourness are firm, a bit spirity, some depleted caramel and toasty malts. Overall, itís an odd experiment. The Apple Brandy barrel seems to provide some synergy with the sourness. A bit of body, well sourned with some odd spirit, barrel falvors are pronounced throughout. Odd but interesting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured a clear ruby amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy sour yeast, fruit and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & tart flavor with a medium to heavy sour & tart finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a clear dark amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some sweet malts, a nice Flanders red note, tart character, caramel, gets soft at times. I canít believe itis 11 percent. Not much carbonation, but good flavor.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle to snifter (shared with Tmoney99, alexsdad06, and jmborggren; thanks Dogbones). Looks good; a cloudy reddish brown with very thin light beige lacing. Smells solid; tart and funky with notes of cherries and apple brandy barrels. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a tart but smooth mouthfeel. Dangerously drinkable for 11% too. Good beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
11/9/13. Bottle shared by Matt at Sweet Grass. A lucky bottle shared during their Westbrook events! Thanks, guys! Amber red pour with a nice khaki head. Lightly tart aroma, deep, rich, on the Flanders side of things as far as sours go - dark fruits, a mix of sweet and sour with rich savory aspects - tobacco, leather, dark fruits, dark sugars, etc. Tasty!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a translucent copper from the bottle with no real head or lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel from the barrel up front, then a nice lactic sour middle, and an oaky sour finish. Taste is less than the nose, but still a nice blend of the sour and the brandy barrel. I think its pretty damn good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Sweetgrass at the Westbrook beer dinner. Deep ruby color with a small white head. Vinegar, cherry, oak, notes if lactic acid in the aroma. Sweeter, slightly tannic flavor with the above mentioned flavor with a puckering tart ending. Medium bodied and dry. Pretty nice.
