3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jbeatty (506) - New York, USA - APR 11, 2013
Can, 04/11/2013. Pours copper, thin white foamy head, excellent retention. Juicy hoppy aroma: citrus, pineapple, a little herbal like the cone was just thrown in there, floral finish with nice supporting caramel backbone. Taste veers more towards grapefruit, piney hops, not aggressively bitter and again with that wet hop type character, Medium, smooth palate, highly drinkable. Actually one of the better IPAs for me in recent memory, hopefully this starts coming around a lot more.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 tdmuel (84) - South Carolina, USA - APR 3, 2013
Pours a clear golden/orange color with a white head and a bit of yeast floating around. Lots of floral hops on the nose as well as a pineapple and citrus note. Lots of pineapple and mango on the taste, floral hop bitterness, tiny bit of breadiness on the back and a little malt on the finish. Full bodied flavor, medium carbonation. Well balanced, bright fruity flavors and a good bit of bitterness to cut through it.

Can to mouth. Canned on 3/1/13, consumed 3/27/13. Juniper candy aroma. A delicious bouquet of flowers and tropical fruit with more than a touch of resin. Creamy mouthfeel. Very well done and I’m loving this more with each sip.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ThreeCats (297) - ISRAEL - MAR 27, 2013
Big foamy head over slightly hazy golden body. Aroma of light hops, citrus, zest, some caramel, some tropical fruit. Taste of solid bitterness upfront, light body, slightly sweet aftertaste, very drinkable. Bitter and fairly sweet finish. This could pass for a hoppy pale ale if it didn’t say IPA on the can.

Taste: very fruity, some pineapple, passion fruity, piny hops, citrus, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: fruity, bitter, resinous, mango, some exotic fruits. South Carolina needs some good breweries to pop up and Westbrook is making a name for themselves with this one. Citrusy, grapefruit and the hops blow your skirt up. Maybe SC has struck gold with this IPA, and basically has become my favorite SC brewery over RJ and Thomas Creek in a short time. Cheers!
