3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange with small head. Aroma is dominated by walnuts and is spicy and pungently hopped. Nettles. Nuttier taste. Sweet smooth palate, full. Plenty of bitter hops in the finish, a bit vegetal. Past its best before, but I’ve had a few westbrooks (some several times) can extrapolate backwards, and I don’t think I’d have liked it much more. Rounding up the scores to compensate.

3/6/2012 3:50:03 AM Can from the Bierkoning. Nice light amber body with big head. Nose is plenty of fruits, especially grapefruit and very hoppy. Taste is very nice fruits and hops. Really smooth and well-rounded texture. Also cool to rate my first beer from South Carolina.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From site: A base of pale, Munich, and Carapils malts is just enough to contain the massive hop flavor and aroma packed into this highly drinkable IPA. A blend of four American hop varieties is added four times in the kettle and twice in the fermenter for a complex and layered hop experience. Best served at 45-50˚F in a tulip or English style pint glass.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lovely fruity smell, a hint of apples and pears. Great malt character, but it is the hop taste that totally dominates. Very bitter, with a delicious peppery kick.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2016 Aroma is fruity and hoppy with notes of pineapple, citrus and a bit of vanilla softness.
Appearance is golden to amber with a little cloudiness. White and smooth head that slowly disappears.
Taste begins with a light / medium sweetness from the malts and then becomes medium bitter.
Medium body, sticky texture, average to soft carbonation and a nicely bitter finish. Recommendable.
