Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Henrik, 30/12/12. Hazed pale golden/yellow with a thin white head. Nose carries sour/tarte fruit notes, wheat, touch of smoke. Taste comprises sour and tarte berry fruits, grapes, wheat, sugars. Light medium in body with spritzy carbonation lending towards a sour/smokey finish. Decent enough fayre!

Bottle at Chriso’s tasting 30/12/12. pale cloudy yellow nice white head. Bamberg rauchbeer smoke aroma. Grapefruit tanginess a little puckering and the rauch smokiness comes through in the finish. Very unusual but it seems to work.

Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike. The beer is hazy and yellow with a small white head. The aroma is quite smoky. Sour malt and some tart citrus blend well with a prominent campfire smoke character. Lingering tartness in the finish with smoke notes. I think of this as equal parts rauchbier and Berlinerweiss. Interesting and well done. I would have this again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-30-2012

Bottled. Hazy yellow to orange beer with a huge but diminishing head. Aroma is heavy on bacon-like smoke, lactic acid and peppery yeast. It has some wine gum notes, otherwise fruitiness is minimal. Finishes with awsome walnut falvor, delicate smokiness and peppery yeast. Very dry, clean wheaty taste with tart lactic acid and peppery yeast notes. Light, balanced and very refreshing palate. I love it! This beer has a huge potential in food pairings, for example with smoked fish.

Hazy amber with little visible head, aroma is pungent smoke with a light sour fruitiness lingering. Sour cherries and hay present too. Taste is like a three course meal in reverse - sweet and sour strawberry sherbet and wild kick to begin, before the smoke mellows it out into savory liquorice malt before finishing with a smoked cheese finish that keeps on going. Very generous in duration and sheer quantity of flavour delivered, though clearly not for everyone. It remains an expertly crafted and imaginative beer though.

22 oz bottle from the good man nearbeer, who I met up with on a family trip to Knoxville. 22 oz bottle poured into a Green Flash tulip. Cloudy brass yellow with effervescent white head. Head disappears to nothing, but quickly comes back with a bit of swirling. Nose is tart mid citrus sweetness. Lots of flavors moving around on this one. Bit of tart, saltiness, vinegar bite, smoke. My wife says "Tastes like meat!" Thanks for a great bottle to bring back from an adventure.
