COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

Keg at Brewdog on a very warm day. Black, small foamy brown head. Aroma is vanilla, pepper, some coffee and roast malts. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is the expected cinnamon, vanilla and chili spice, all melding into each other. Touches of chewed bread and chocolate, with a little ash balancing out the sweetness. Long chili finish keeps it interesting throughout. This really is outstanding. Prefer it to the coffee version.

Pours a jet black with mocha foam. Nose is fudge, cocoa, some cherry and cinnamon. Slightly peppery but not vegetal. Taste is cocoa and light cinnamon and vanilla then increasingly warming habaneros. The perfect heat, each sip is warming and lingers for a long time. A bit difficult to get through a whole bottle but this is an excellent pepper stout. Just behind Huna due to its tame cinnamon level.

650 ml. bottle @ home. Obtained in a trade with sfr26. Thanks! Bottled on 5/8/15 – 2 months old. Black, little to almost no mocha head. Nose is big lightly vegetable habanero, light raw jalapeno-like notes, very heavy cinnamon (too much) mixed with soy sauce, cheap chocolate, heavy cacao nibs, so heavy on cinnamon & cacao nibs that it comes across as almost being artificial,… Taste & body is a bit thin & so heavy on cacao nibs, cinnamon etc. that it comes across as somewhat artificial. Taste is huge on cacao nibs, very, very heavy cinnamon, soy sauce, umami, artificial-like umami, finish is reasonable habanero heat that lingers a bit, also picking up quite a bit of jalapeno notes here (but more spicy) even though those aren’t here,… Pleasant but the ‘adjuncts’ are a bit too heavy, this might be better BA. Quite a fun beer still. The heat & chili is really good quality, real chili, and constant good burn.

Draught at Fermentoren. Medium high creamy lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Smooth and pleasant aroma of choccolate and a bit of vanilla. Coffee cocoa dried fruit caramel flavor with a good deal of spicyness and hints of the alcohol. Low carbonation, long spicy finish. Definately a nice surprise.

Bottle. Teku glass. Pitch balck with medium to high, semi-densed, light brown head. Medicore lacing and head retention. Nice milk chocolate aroma, light to medium aroma of black fruits, hints of vanilla. Taste is medium bitter, int he begininng milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla in the end strong spicey aroma (chilli peppers). Really unexpectionale. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, finish is long bitter, dry and spicey. In overall it’s all like it’s said on the label. Definetlety worth trying.

Tap@Fermentoren, Copenhagen - pours black with a brown head. Dark roasted malty aroma and taste, prominent overt spicy on the palate, with chocolate, some coffee, some caramel malty sweetness relief into the roasted sweet hot finish. Initially found it to be abit too spicy but by the end of the glass it was going down a treat once you get to used to it :) Nice brew.

Black pour with an espresso head. Aroma is full of chocolate, and a little cinnamon. Mouth is full. Taste is full of chocolate and cinnamon. Very balanced. Really tastes like cake. Peppery burn is pleasant. Way too easy to drink for 10.5%. As it warms, vanilla and cocoa become more prevalent. Spicy pepper just builds the more you drink. Excellent beer.
