COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2015 On tap at the Brick Store, for their 18th anniversary. Pitch black color, with almost no head. Nose is cocoa powder, hot peppers, coffee, molasses, and cinnamon. Big roasted bitterness and pretty sweet, with a relatively mild warming spice. Heavy body, creamy, and very grainy and sharp. This is a very nice, well balanced spiced stout, with a fantastic nose, and lovely body.

65 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour are cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla - with a lot of chili in the finish. Could have been a lot better without the cinnamon.

A: Coffee, vanilla, cocoa, hint of port wine, dried fruit, almond, cinnamon T: Cocoa, cinnamon, heat from habanero! O: WOW! The cocoa hits straight away followed by the clear cinnamon and the habanero bring the heat in the end. Lots of heat! Hard to find the vanilla, but this is really my cup of beer! Lovely!

Dark black pour with a tiny tan head. Big cinnamon chocolate nose. A bit of heat, cinnamon, bitter chocolate. More spicy than I was prepared for. Cool.

Draft at the brewery. Wow, this is great beer! Aromas sweet malts, spice and vanilla. Flavors are vanilla, chocolate, malty sweetness with a spicy kick in the finish. Not too spicy like I feared.

Tap. Pours opaque black with thin, tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, peppers, spices, and faint booze. Flavor matches the nose and is extremely layered, complex, and balanced. Medium/full body.

Bomber. Bottled 05/08/15. I’ve waited a long time to get this beer, so this is an absolute experience for me. Pours jet black witha delicious bubbly tan head that clings to the edges. Aroma is fresh chocolate, roasted coffee, rich roasted malts, decent cinnamon and vanilla. Peppers right there at the back. So good. Flavor is spicy, wow that’s a lot of pepper. I did not expect that. That’s seriously intense. Cinnamon and vanilla are very prevalent. Spice is a little too much for me. I expected something closer to Xocoveza or Prairie Bomb but this is more intense. It’s great as a sipper. it’s just a bit too spicy for my own tastes. I still finished the bomber.

On tap at Westbrook. Pours a black color with tan head. Brownie, spicy pepper, chocolate, roasty, malty sweet aromas. Cinnamon, fudge brownie, pepper heat, dark chocolate. Not quite Abraxas, but fucking good. I could handle a touch less spiciness.

Thin tan head that fades quickly. Black, murky appearance. Spicy nose, chocolate and earth. Full bodied, chewy, oily slick with a tired carbonation, warming on the palate. Chocolate, caramel and spices, maybe a bit too much spice? Milk chocolate and earthy pepper flavors. Finish is long and heated but still drinkable. Decent but not a brew for continuous slurping. Draft at the Brewery. Had a couple snifters. The second one went down hard. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
