3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours pitch black with a creamy mocha head. Aroma is burned malts with a sweet layer of cocoa, vanilla and muscovado, as well as nice whiffs of tobacco, liquorice and bourbon barrels. Oily body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with wood, oaken barrels, dark chocolate and cocoa, as well as more than a hint of chilli that lingers and grows ever stronger through the finish.

Bottle shared with a bunch of folks. Pours a dark brown with aroma of chocolate. Couldn’t really smell the pepper. Nice and smooth chocolate flavor on the palate with a hint of pepper on the back end.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle poured a dark brown bordering on black with a thick one plus fonger tan head that retained very well. Aroma has rich malt, mild spices, chocolate fudge, light pepper heat, and some faint vanilla. Mouth feel coats very well and there is a light carbonation. Flavor has chocolate, many malted layers, vanilla, and pepper heat that continued to creep up in intensity as the glass went on. I dig the beer and it has lots of interesting angles. The label is also done quite well.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Justin...his last one, you're the man. Aroma is without the peppers, but the flavor has cocoa, pepper, cinnamon, somewhat caky, and some vanilla. Palate is really the best part about this beer, good carb and nice pepper on the back end. Very good beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pitch black with a medium sized light brown head. Coffee, cocoa, lots of sweet chocolate, sugar, light chilli warmth in the finish which also has some light cinnamon. Medium/heavy sweet with little bitterness but the chilli works well with the sweetness. Full body, soft carbonation, creamy/sticky texture.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Denise told me to grab some of this, and it is an interesting find - I just wish I liked it more. Dark pour with a tan topper. Cool white on black label. The aroma is very nice - fresh dark bread, coffee, and woodsmoke. It does not taste much like cake, unless you like cake full of hot chili peppers. Sweet pumpernickel, prune, chocolate, cinnamon, and not super hoppy. Good, but heavy handed, with too many scovilles - I’m afraid that is what really lingers in my memory about this brew, along with the burning sensation lingering on my palate.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Several sampled at THE FESTIVAL 2013 in Maine with Andrew, Jay and Kramer. Pours a deep brownish black body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is rich chocolate brownie, vanilla, cinnamon and heat from the spice. Mouthfeel is full and rich with an incredible balance between the sweet and savory chocolate brownie character and the hot, spicy habanero peppers. The cinnamon and vanilla only add to the palate - and it’s for the best. A great pepper-treated imperial stout.
