Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Here’s to many more!

This mite be the Best imperial stout I’ve ever had. This is a chocolate bomb with quite a spice kick at the end. And I love it. The habanero certainly comes thru and doesn’t disappoint.

750, capped. Thanks r! What a crazy treat. Pours an opaque black with a dense and creamy dark tan head. Big intense dark chocolate nose, smells like a high percentage, high quality dark chocolate with cocoa notes. Sticky thick body with soft carb. Intense dark chocolate on the mid palate with a late creeper cayenne nkte that warmz the back of the mouth for a good while in the aftertaste. Wonderful.

1 pt 6 fl oz bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 01-10-2015.
Bottled: 08-05-2015.
In short: spicy hot Imp. Stout.
Pours very dark, almost black with little tan head. Short head retention, some lacing. Cocoa, vanilla, spicy nose. Full body, soft carbonation, viscous texture. Taste is spicy, dark chocolate, vanilla, some hot flavors that linger for so long. Hot palate only detected after a while. very well integrated flavours and blanced beer. Very enjoyable.

750ml bottle (thanks martjoobolut). Pitch black color. Small size, brown head, stays. Cinnamon, crumbly chocolate cake, dusty, bit buttery in aroma. Chocolate cake, vanilla, bit metallic, hot chilly in taste. Chilly chocolate cake in aftertaste. Harsh to drink. Everything is nice, but unbalanced. Messy, but drinkable brew.

660ml bottle (300e of overpriced beer tasting) - thanks martjoobolut!
Nice thick heavy sticky chocolate cake icing aroma, just a bit of cinnamon - yum! Huge chilli burn immediately in the mouth, but chilli doesn’t scare me. Otherwise the palate is very thick and heavy. Nice coconutty chocolate cake taste, with vanilla icing. Finish has the expected big hot burn. This turns into a gimmick very quickly. There might be a good beer behind the chilli, but alas they decided to hide it too well.

Pitch black beer, small brown head. Nose is chocolate, coffee, thick roast, almost tarry notes, spice. Flavor is chili and chocolate, very spicy, but also balanced. Lingering chili burn with vanilla in the finish. Lovely.

(Bottle, 0.65 l - bottled 8 March 2015, thanks martjoobolut, 20150926) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had dark chocolate, cocoa and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation and chilli burning. Flavours were dark chocolate, sweetness, chilli, burnt malts, cocoa and bitterness. Aftertaste had chocolate, chilli and bitterness. A brew the drinking of which was like eating a chocolate cake with chilli toppings. Good except the burning was a bit too intense.

Tap @ Basement Beer Bar in Aalborg. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Black colour, brown head, none lasting. Alcohol sweetness, moderate sweetness, light malt bitterness, moderate hotness. You can feel the habanero hotness. Full body creamy thick texture, light carbonation, sweet hot finish.
