COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Happy birthday to us! To celebrate our first year as a brewery we brewed a serious imperial stout and aged it on cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks, and fresh habanero peppers. This is the first offering in our annual Anniversary series. Hereís to many more!

Bottle, bought @ ōlbutikken, Cph. Pours opaque black with a giant, creamy, beige head. Aroma has sweet chocolate, cocoa, nuts, light peppery. Medium to high carbonation, fine creamy and dry mouthfeel. Flavour has lovely luscious chocolate, vanilla, light oaky, good mild but sharp chili burn. Extremely well-balanced. And not too sweet.

A deep dark imperial stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light cinnamon notes, light coffee, Mexican spices, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with cinnamon, chili powder, black forest cake, very nice. Bottle shared with Matt and Puhskinwow.

Next on the block, another beer I took notes for on paper a long time ago... and am finally entering a rating for... of course this one was shared by a kind soul in a location remote of my living room.
Pours black with an espresso swirl head and decent lacing on the glass.

The aroma is big on coconut & cinnamon. Itís sweet, itís got a lot of chorolate and some vanilla. Itís aromatic, rich and inviting for sure.

The flavor is pleasantly sweet and just all over the place (in a nice way) Itís chocolaty with plenty of hot pepper, coconut, espresso, & vanilla. There is a nice roasty bitterness throughout countering the sweeter elements with some success.

As far as big spicy stouts go, the only thing that holds a candle to this is Abraxas... although these two beers have opened me up to the possibility of an Imperial Stout that sounds like a mess being awesome.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate dark chocolate, peppers, cinnamon, black licorice, and a touch of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a very fine ring. There is some spotty lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate and black licorice. The finish has a nice mix of roasted coffee, vanilla, light cinnamon, and just a hint of heat from the peppers. Itís medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel.

Pours warm sable with a thin tan head. Sweetish aroma had chocolate, waxy, coffee and roast malt notes. Flavor has smoky malt, quality roast coffee, molasses, semi-sweet chocolate, and peppery tones, adding up to a truly distinctive brewski. Mouthfeel is fairly firm and fizzy.

22 oz. bottle. I got it from a trade, but canít remember from whom. Probably that dipass Homer321. Or someone else. Now I feel bad. Anyway, glad I finally got around to this one. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a small brown head that settles into a ring. Lovely looking, as expected. Notes of cocoa nibs, roasted malts, toasted sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, earth, and very mild habanero on the nose. The flavor has a bit too much of a bakerís chocolate thing going on for my liking, and the bitter intensity overpowers the other notes (cocoa nibs, vanilla, cinnamon) to a degree before giving way to habanero at the end. Medium-bodied, with an earthy, roasty, bitter, spicy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Glad I have four barrel-aged variants to try next to this, because I think theyíd improve upon the base. I prefer it to Bomb but itís nowhere near the level of Abraxas.
