Bottle @ Himmeriget, Copenhagen. Pours pitch black with a small mocha head. Aromas of chilies, cinnamon, cocoa, dry dark chocolate, subtle wine tartness but a pretty serious grapey and boozy wine character. Taste is cinnamon up front, dry dark chocolate, dry vinous characters, light tartness aswell, oaky sweet, chillies, red grapes, woody dry finish. Obviously a very nice brew but the red wine somehow isn’t for me along with the spices. At least not that much.

Bottle... This beer rocks! Pours Zhukov-black and dense with a small, creamy, beige head. Decent retention. The aroma is a lovely marriage of hot, melted fudge with some serious red wine booziness. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and laid-back carbonation. This beer is all about deliciousness - graham, dark chocolate, cinnamon, chili pepper and mild warmth with a modest ration of red grape skin acidity. Lightly tart, chocolaty finish with lingering notes of graham and vinous acidity. Thinner than the other Mexican Cake treatments and the base beer itself – also a treatment of sorts. So very delicious nonetheless. Kudos to landhoney for sharing this world class brew with the south Florida crew!

Thanks to Walt. A bit past prime if I had to guess but a neat beer with slight vineous notes.

22 oz. bottle shared by Mark - thanks again, Mark! Pours a deep, opaque brown with a small dark tan head. Notes of vanilla, cinnamon, oak, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, graham cracker, dark fruits (dried berries, and some vinous character from the wine barrel), and peppers late and at the end. Spicy aftertaste. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a rich, sweet, spicy mouthfeel. As expected, the barrel really smooths out the bitterness and spice of the base and complements it beautifully. I didn’t anticipate this much of an improvement. Great job.

Poured a black color with aromas of chocolate, malt, light spicy pepper and some light wine. Flavors were chocolate brownies with some light pepper finished by some light vnieous qualities. A solid treatment to this solid stout.
