Can, October 2014 batch. Hazed gold with a thin white head. American aroma hops are catty and smell of orange marmalade and apricot jam and faint pine. Malt is honey-ish, sugary / pastry-like and husky. Yeast is lightly chalky / muddy. Syrupy and flabby with close to zero carbonation. Horribly under-fermented, the rough finishing bitterness and worty malt sugar is like drinking from primary. This is unfinished beer being sold to the public. Nobody designs a beer to be like this, I’m sure previous batches were decent but this batch is a mess.

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Stas. Cloudy golden with a white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity and piney hops and some rye spiciness. Flavor has some malt sweetness, mild rye spiciness fruity hops and a bitter finish. Nice.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, hops, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg at the Euston Tap, 09/01/15. Hazed golden yellow with a decent off white head that retains well. Nose is melon, tangerine, soft bread dough, light grapefruit, grassy notes. Taste comprises pine, grapefruit, tangerine, orange pith, straw, juicy hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent APA.

Opalescent honey coloured, small frothy white head. Noses of sweet goosberry, pineapple, cereal and some more tropical fruit salad. Softly carbonated overall. A bit slick texture with sweet fruity pineapple flavours, medium bodied and developping a fruity hop bitterness. Medium finish.

This is a decent pale ale. I bought in Western NY and it was still good and fresh so kudos for Westbrook for getting it out there in good shape. It’s a cloudy orange yellow beer w/ a long lasting head of large, foamy bubbles. This is very much a pine-forward brew but clean and not all sappy and woody tasting. Some citrus and floral notes round things out. This has a pleasant fullness of body but is highly carbonated so maybe it feels just a little lighter than it is. It finishes w/ a bit of resinous bitterness. I prefer a brighter more citrusy pale ale than this but if you are a lover of big, pungent hops this will do the trick for you for sure.

An excellent rye pale ale. Really hoppy and piney with a bitter aftertaste. Pours light yellow with a thin head. Had out of a can at poogans poarch in Charlotte. Awesome beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
