3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2015 By far the best thing I have tasted from Westbrook. Pours a hazy orange color- not much head retention. Nose is citrus, pine and spicy wheat. Taste is well balanced with the hops hitting the right notes and the rye giving it an aura of je-ne-sais-croix. Finish is a nice dry with the citrus lingering. A really good beer. Had from a can but intend to try on tap at the brewery.
1/1/2015 From a can at the beach. Still great. Unfiltered. Definite pine notes along with the citrus/orange. Nice dry resin on the finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy, opaque yellow body with a very large, creamy, off-white head that laces the glass excellently. However, the body looks a bit too much like orange juice and a bit too little like beer. Hoppy, sweet, fruity and strong aroma of peach, mango and other sweet tropical fruits, upon a fruity background. Fruit fruit fruit. Strong flavour of peach, mango, orange and caramel, with spices in the back. Moderate to light sweet taste with a moderate to light bitter long-lasting finish. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. One of the best pale ales I’ve ever had! A bit more bittering hops and you’ll have a remarkable IPA!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy to cloudy sunny golden with a decent off-white head that hangs out a bit and leaves a clumpy ring of lace around the glass. Nose involves soft sweet malt, rye spice, light pine, apricot, and orange juice. Fairly sweet, decently bitter, nice pale ale appropriate balance. Medium bodied, softer carbonation, with a drying herbal spicy finish. Enjoyable, reminds me why I love rye pale ales. Good balance and flavor, and just right strength-wise.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can (Aug 09, 2016 canning).
Head is initially average sized to large, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, lemon oil), with a light note of garlic.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Kind of generic for the style...a bit too sour for my liking, and the nose is pretty ordinary and has some of that "modern hop" (or "modern hop treatment") odor...sort of garlicky. Drinkable but not much better than that.
