A monstrously big and hoppy Double IPA. The recipe for this beer was developed by Brewer Shane Cummings. F**kin’ A!

Tap @ Beer Temple. Cloudy, golden blonde color. Big uneven white head with good lacing. Aroma’s: pine needles, citrus and a light maltiness. Retronasal there’s pine, citrus, some acidity. Flavor is malty (medium) sweet, moderate to full bitter with some hoppy acidity. Medium bodied. Long firm bitter finish. Nice!

Bottle. Aroma is is tropical fruit, caramel malt, and resinous hops. Appearance is cloudy burnt orange with a dense white head. Good lacing. Taste is piney hops, orange peel, resin, and pith. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish with some lingering bitterness. Overall a very good double IPA worthy of revisiting.

Middle of IIPA/DIPA. Not too sweet, more hoppy with every sip, but no overwhelming malt light sweetness. Nice finish with long lasting herbal, resin hops bitter. Intense aroma mixture. Orange notes and good, thick top in appearance.

650ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, barely white head. Floral and piney, hoppy aroma, biscuity malty background. Taste is initially moderately sweet caramel malty, biscuity, with integrated citrusy, piney, and floral hoppy notes, mandarine, orange, grapefruit, later more and more bitter hoppy, escalating in an biting, intensely bitter, long lasting finish. Initially mild, subtle and gentle taste; in the finish more intense bitterness than hypothesized by 80 IBUs. Very nice.

65 cl bottle. Bottled on 21.02.2014.
Pours golden color with a large white head. Oh the aroma, lots of citric fruits, grape fruits mostly, floral hops, pine needles, resin, some caramel and some tropical fruits also. Very bitter fruity palate, citric fruits and resinous hops on the flavor, gooseberries, mild caramel malts and some grassy notes also. The aroma is very fresh and hoppy, can’t believe this is four months old, I wonder how good it would be fresh. Westbrook proves it’s worth once again. Excellent.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark orange copper colour with a white head. Aroma is really strong and rich with grapefruit, mango, herbal notes and lime. Very rich flavour of caramel, heavy pungent herbal notes, weed, kiwi, rich grapefruity bitterness and some malts. Full bodied and soft carbonation. Rich, juicy, very bitter finish. Not too sweet, not too malty and heavily hopped. Alcohol is well hidden. Lovely.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of dunn4040. Pours a very hazy orange with a moderate white head that lasted through the first quarter pf the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of orange and grapefruit along with some malt and caramel. The flavor follows the aroma very closely with the same orange, grapefruit, malt and caramel. Medium-full bodied. Solid.

Pours amber with a nice looking medium large white head. Aromas of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, apricot, pine cones and resin. Big and bold on the nose; lovely! Taste is likewise not on the bashful side: tropical fruit explosion of grapefruit, citrus, apricot, mango along with earthy resinous notes from pine, resin and fir. Some caramel notes as well. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and somewhat oily. Aftertaste is a very nice blend of tropical fruit zestness and hop bitterness. Very good!
