Bottle shared by oRos. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a massive chocolate and oat aroma. There is a hearty chocolate and treacle flavor that tingles on the palate then turns oat flat. Nice brew.

BIF project. Pours pitch black with a bubbly brown head. Aroma is oats, bitter chocolate, roasted nuts. Taste is chocolate at the front, oats. good bitterness. Not as full or smooth as I expected, but still a wonderful stout.

Bottle. Pours dark brown (black) with a frothy dark head. Slight notes of raisin, and a big chocolate rush. An impressive body for a 5.5% stout. Relatively harsh carbonation from the bottle, but I think I could have let it warm a bit before drinking. The beer is rounded out and flavorful.

Pour is black with a small amount of fairly tight caramel head. Nose is heavily roasted and assertive lactose, gets a bit acrid and burnt. Taste is similar, extremely burnt malts really dominate, the creamy lactose is overpowered. Medium bodied and very creamy, assertive carb, moderately dry finish.

Keg at Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Pours deep brown with a creamy khaki head. The nose holds a lot of dusty chocolate, light roast, earth. Medium sweet flavor with ashy roast, burnt sugars, lactose, milk chocolate, scorched earth. Medium bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with more burnt sugars, chocolate, bitter earth. A by-the-book milk stout pretty much.

Tap@Kudu Coffee & Craft Beer, Charleston. Pitch black coloured beer with a strong off white head. The aroma is creamy with a touch of roasted’ness and aniseed. The flavour is creamy with a light fortified maltiness feel. Overall a reasonable milk stout with complexities.

Bomber shared. Sweet roasty milky with great body from the flaked oats. Not my favorite style but it might be if it always tasted like this.

Bottle. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with lactose, cocoa, hops, berries and chocolate. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture. Finishes dry and roasted with lactose, roasted malts and chocolate. Deeper chocolate flavor as it warms.
