We carry this at our bar and it is truly an awesome beer. It has a great caramel undertone that is smooth on the palate. Great to drink a couple of these in the afternoon.

on tap at brewery, the vanilla is very light on this one and adds as an excellent complement to the dubbel style.

Dark amber with tan head.
Hoppy and malty. Vannilla and wood. High carbonation, a little sweet.
Almost an American Strong Ale. The dubbel is well hidden under the wood and hops.
Really nice.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TomTron (296) - Aiken, South Carolina, USA - APR 7, 2012
Pours a deep dark red with a nice off white head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, some candied sugars and caramel malts. Taste is a good bit of caramel maltiness with some plums and raisins popping through with a bit of the vanilla showing up every so often. Very mild bitterness, which takes a back seat to the sweetness in this one, and the carbonation runs rather soft. Has a nice oak character and is very well balanced. Pretty impressive offering from a brewery in my home state, that’s just getting its legs under them.
