This beer, inspired by the flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine, is a twist on the classic Belgian witbier style. Instead of the traditional coriander and orange peel spicing regimen, we add fresh lemongrass, ginger root, and a dash of Sorachi Ace hops. The result is a wonderfully refreshing ale with notes of lemon candy, citrus fruit, and a slight spiciness from the ginger. Best served at 45˚F in a tulip or wine glass.

Can poured into HF glassware. Cloudy pale yellow with a filmy head that sticks around. Smell is yeast, wheat, crackers, and lemon. Taste is pretty much standard for witbier, with some nice spice from the sorachi ace and a nice twist from the slight ginger. Lemon is also dominant, but I canít tell if its mostly from the hops or the lemongrass. Another solid offering from Westbrook.

One of the best wheat beers I have had. Very nice balance with the Belgian yeast. Then a nice lemon grass flavor. Body is pretty solid too! Give it a try!

I decided to save my Surly for later so I am opening a can of Westbrook White Thai picked up for 31DKK (550 yen) at Mikkeller & Friends. 5% I donít know anything about this brewery but the price was right & it is an ale brewed with fresh lemongrass, ginger root & Sorachi Ace, inspired by SE Asian food. Great honey gold pour. It has a nice fruity aroma with a touch of lemon & ginger. What a nice easy drinking light beer, zesty fruit I get peach, lemon, then some ginger & spice notes with a dry finish. A really nice surprise, good stuff at a nice price.

Can from Liqour express - ill be honest, I had about two ounces of this one before I fell asleep on the couch, so my review wouldnít be very helpful. Iím going to have to get this one again so I can properly review it.

0.355l can from Top Hops. Yeah, itís quite hazy and almost a bit murky in the glass this. A nice medium sized white lasting head on top of the hazy deep orange/yellow body. Smells quite spicy and herbal. Lots and lots of wheat and dry hefe yeast with cardboard, of dried blood orange and the zest from the orange, some sweet caramel and a grassy herbal thing. Smells quite much, and in kinda liking it. Not typical wit at all, but still it bear some resemblance. Yeah, i get lots of lemongrass in the wheat flavor. Thatís what that herbal thing is! Quite elegantly oily and really gliding in the mouth with a average carbonation level. Peppery as well, some sharp citrus and zesty bitterness also present in the taste. Grassy herbal finish and aftertaste. A fun thing to try, but I could not drink lots and lots of this. 03.07.2013

An attractive can, and a dark blonde pour with a sweet, spicy aroma. Strong wheat flavor with lemon peel and pale ale type hops. It seems like the malts could be English or German style. The finish is enjoyably astringent. It doesnít seem that Thai to me, but I bet it would pair well with Thai food.

Can from the Bottle Shop Canterbury. Drunk on the train to Ashford Itís a veryspicy wit. Some ccoriander I think. Not unpleasant but very spicy for the style. A little soapy Belgian wit comes through but mostly itís the spices. Nice enough. Not a wit though itís a spice herb vegetable

Savannah, Ga - Whole Foods Market - 12 oz can. Pours a hazy medium orange with a thin but long lasting white head that leaves a thin film of lacing. Aroma has some coriander accents, a touch of lemon. Flavor is full bodied and has a nice coriander spicy bent to it with some lemony citrus accents, a touch of ginger and some yeasty back end notes. Mouthfeel has a nice crispness to it. Pretty decent.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2014 Can: Thanks, Mike! Golden sunshine and cloudy with a nimbus head, white and chunky with nice lacing. Aroma is kind of lemony, lots of clumpy yeast, bubblegum, little ginger spice, and kind of a cheesy funk. Taste is also filled with Belgian yeast, bubblegum, light clove and ginger spices, very mild hints of lemon zest, and a touch of stale hops. Some faintly sweet, bready malt in the finish. Medium bodied for the ABV, good carbonation. Not bad, but a little to spiced without enough sweetness to counter.
