COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Red label. This tripel has been aged for 9 months in oak barrels that were previously used to mature red wine. During the maturation period in our climate controlled barrel room, the beer picks up new flavors from the barrels and their previous contents. The origin of the barrel and the grape varietal it contained both contribute their own nuances.

From notes. Tasted some time near the summer of 2012 from a capped 750mL bottle. Pours hazy copper with a thick off-white head that leaves thick, messy lace. The nose is super oaky cinnamon and coconut, very vinous, maple, and some caramel malt. The flavor is really dominated by the cinnamon and coconut oak, with the vinous red wine notes underlying, and the same caramel and maple from the nose. The body is medium with some wood tannin, average, smooth carbonation, and a long, very oaky red wine finish.

Bottle shared at the Ratebeer Gallery event in SF. I get a lot of cinnamon, coriander and fleshy fruits such as pear and apple. Peppery alcohol comes through sharply. Some buttery oak notes along with grape tartness. Overall quite sweet and boozy.

From bottle share at the Ratebeer Gallery event. Pours cloudy amber with a thin beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a wine-laden pale malt flavor with a slight amount of yeasty esters and lots of oak in the finish.

Yeasty, grape, vanilla little funk in the aroma. Good carbonation, and medium body. The combination of wine and oak play well off each other making this a very complex, yet very drinkable beer. Awesome.
