COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Occasional;
It’s based on a 1938 recipe from the old Westerham brewery for an audit ale, based on the strong ales served at Oxbridge colleges on the day students took final oral exams and grades were announced.

Dover Beer Fest. A typical well made old fashioned, characterful, hoppy premium bitter from Westerham. They are a damn fine brewery. It must be the yeast. Great character. It must be the brewer. Well balanced. Great brew.

Beehive, Brixton South London - cask conditioned. Full tasting beer bitter and slightly fruity. Two would be the limit on this one!

Caramel, floral, earthy, alcohol. Yes, definitely tasted of alcohol! Very drinkable, even the mushroomy back-flavour complemented the other nuances. Distinctly sweet.

Pours a beautifully clear dark amber with medium carbonation and a good cream head. Aroma is malt forward with some dark crystal in there, but there’s hops there too from the Goldings. Caramel, dark sugar, raisin, tangerine, blackcurrant, biscuit, with some smoke and spice. Nice boozy, smoky finish. Decent beer.

Cask @ Charlies Bar, Cph.
Clear nutty amber with a small, nice, staying, creamy, yellowish head. Mild fat aroma, light berries and grass, good caramel. Medium carbonation, nice creamy and rather dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very nice, nuts, biscuits, dark chocolate and caramel. Light toasted, some tartish liqourice and berries. Reminds me of a very dry Fullers 1845. Lovely.

Bottle. Dark amber reddish beer with a great frothy head. The aroma is well hopped with a touch of roastedness. The flavour is extremely well hopped with bags of bitterness and dryness, some maltiness and roastedness as well . Overall a very nice pale ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap somwhere! Clear amber beer. Slightly soft palate. Toffee malt with well integrated smooth peach and apricot. Finishes sweet and caramelly and semi dry. A good one!

Bottle dated 08.15. Toasted malt and cheese and onion aromas, slighty butyric. Chestnut brown body with a moderate, loose white head. Medium bitterness with a touch of sweetness and sourness. Nuttiness. Soft carbonation and dry texture. Lasting bitter-sweet finish. Full body, Very well-balanced and drinkable strong ale. Would pair well with strong-flavoured foods like a mature cheese

Bottle at home. Pours amber brown in colour. Quite lively out of the bottle with a large off-white head that settles to a good, small collar of foam. The sediment did not kick up on the pour. Not much aroma, all I got was biscuit malt, maybe some fruit. Some sweetness to start on the taste, then a lot of bitterness. Rich mouthfeel with sweet fruit and malt and peppery hop. Long dry finish with a yeast background. A good, strong, bitter beer.
