4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Enjoyed a pint at a pub in Kent in the Summer of 2007. very dark, nice and malty(as I like it), almost sweet. just enough bitterness for me. By far the best bitter I had during my 2 weeks in England. Wish they sold it here in the States.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at the John Logie Baird (JDW), Hastings. Amber with a tight cream head and a fruity aroma - nothing like the brewer’s description. The flavour is muted fruits with nutty carmael malts, followed by a light, dry, biscuity finish. Pleasant enough, but not worth a second glass.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask - The White Horse, Parson’s Green, London. Poured a clear, deep amber-chestnut brown with a medium sized & lasting, bubbly beige head leaving a uniform lace. Lovely malt profile. Sweet, juicy red berries lie beneath toasty, nutty, cakey & almost choccy malts backed by dryer English hop notes. Well balanced on the tongue. Sweet caramel, full biscuity and toasted malt flavours leading to a dry, grassy English hop bitterness. Soft mouthfeel, medium body with a good length finish. A full,
rounded and very drinkable bitter.
