COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special
A proper India Pale Ale (we have dropped the moniker IPA because of its deserved association with Insipid Pale Ale rather than India Pale Ale) brewed in the old style with only Maris Otter Pale Ale Malt and no Crystal Malt. It is a deep golden ale with a thirst quenching bitterness. This India Pale Ale is hopped with all the hop varieties that Ian Strang grows at Scotney Castle and Finchcocks’ hop gardens in West Kent:Target, WGV, Goldings, Bramling Cross and Progress hops. Now produced in our Hop Rocket

Cask at The Wharf, Aalborg, Denmark
Deep blond color with small frothy head. Mild aroma: malt, hops and manure; light but pleasant. Flat and too warm, but not oily; reasonable malt flavor with a touch of toffee; correct bitterness, with some hop resins and hop oils; not dry, with a light grassy ending touch.
Not vibrant like a good golden Ale, but pleasant.

cask@The Lord Northbrook, SE London - Orange pour with a medium frothy white head. Citrus hop notes, orange and lemon most prominent. Touch of pine grapefruit and crisp sharp malt base with bitter finish. Quite light/watery in body overall. Ok overall.

Cask at the William Webb Ellis (JDW), Twickenham - 12/01/13. Clear pale golden with a good sized frothy white head. Nose carries hops, light pine notes, touch of sugar, raspberry jam, citrus. Taste comprises light grapefruit, definate hop presence, grass, citrus, sugars. Medium bodied, a little on the thin side, moderate carbonation with some bitterness in the finish. Decent enough drop!

Cask. Clear amber with a creamy off-white head leaving some lacework. Lightly fruity aroma. Light body, low carbonation, fairly malty and fruity with a fairly dry and bitter finish. A "proper" IPA? Well, I found it pleasantly drinkable but also fairly underwhelming. 170312

Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Clear old gold colour with lasting white head. Cracking condition. Hoppy floral aroma. Some light biscuit from the malt. Good biscuit and some good tingly hop in the mouth. Hardly hop rocket, more a hoppy premium bitter but no harm in that at all. Good though.
