4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice malty balance coupled with slight caramel give this one a very drinkable and smooth-tasting character. Very enjoyable example of the style.

A light and refreshing dunkel. It isnt as rich and decadent as some but it is a good summer elixir.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, pear, apple, toast, toffee, nuttiness, brown sugar, brown bread, floral, and light earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and of malt and fruity ester notes; with decent strength. Taste of caramel, pear, apple, toast, toffee, nuttiness, light roast, brown sugar, brown bread, floral, light pepper, and floral earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, light fruits, toast, toffee, nuttiness, light roast, brown bread, floral, light pepper, and floral earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice flavor balance of malt, hop, and ester flavors; with a good amount of robustness and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy and lightly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good dunkel lager. Good robustness and balance of malt and moderate fruity esters; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Grapes, licorice and caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with a hint of toast. Touches of smoke and roast in the aftertaste. Thanks to MoritzF for this delicious bottle.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Starts out nice with a pour at a good temperature and a nice, medium sized, light tan head that settles after a bit to a light cover and some lace. Color is a clear mahoganey with no bubble trails. Aroma is a pleasing roasty-toasty, malt. Flavor’s like nose, though on the shallow side - as well a bit dry up front along with a hint of bitter and a little carbonic tang, then in the finish there’s a little sweetness. Body’s a bit thin too, carbonation likewise. Finish is as I’ve said with malt sweet doing a slow taper. Ok beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500mL bottle. Poured medium brown with a short, spotty beige head. The aroma picked up quite sweet chocolate and nutty malts with a bit of orange zest and herbal hop accent.. seemed well done for the style. The flavor found sweet, lightly-roasted black and dry chocolate malts with a solid dose of herbal and earthy hops accenting.. finished with brighter carbonation, hops, and a hit of acidity.. tasty stuff. Lighter-bodied and engaging (especially for the style) on the palate.. good feel and flow.. nice one.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cool dark appearance with some ruby around the edges. Aroma was a bit muted, but got hints of toasted malt, spice, and herbs. Tasted a bit of chocolate, spices, and yeast. Didnt seem to have much of a roasty flavor that I would expect from this style. Nonetheless, it was pleasing.
