Golden, medium head, some lacing. Aroma of malt and grassy hops. Crisp, sour from high carbonation, bitter finish. German classic brew.

330ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy aroma, some malty spiciness. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, grassy and mildly bitter hoppy overtones, slightly metallic finish.

Bottle at home for breakfast. My last full day as a New Yorker. Hazy golden pour. Aroma is crisp grassy Noble hops and a bit of lemon. Surprisingly sweet undertones, plenty of pils malt, crackers, Saaz hops, and oily lemon. Finish lacks a bit of characteristic crispness, overly sweet, but all in all pretty good.

Not bad for two-year-old German Pilsner stored at room temperature. Small White head that didn't last too long except for a little bit of lace and a clear golden color. Aroma is malt crackers bread dough and a little hops. Flavors Lake aroma with malt sweetness and carbonic tang in control hop bitterness in the background. Palate is decent. Good drinking beer although a bit sweet for a Pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml green bottle bought at Systembolaget Storheden, shared with djoeye. Huge bubbly, chalk white head to a clear, late straw coloured body. Fair lacing down the glass. Mild aroma of grass and pale malts. Fresh fruity taste with grainy malts beneath. Restrained bitter endnotes. Smooth in the mouth. Just alright to drink (hotel room, Luleå 25.05.2014).

In Sweden green 33cl bottle, look as the "3.5%" but has 4.8%abv and barcode for Sweden; Light off-white near white head, dense, tall, deutschhhhhh. Clear light straw golden beer, sparkling. Aroma; fruity hops, floral fruitiness, fresh brewery scents, nice aroma. Taste; bread, mild fine hops, vegetables, fruity taste with nice bready touches. Palate; slightly rubbery, body&carbonation normal. Finish; malts, breads, juicy, good. If it was made at 4.7, it could be sold in supermarkets in Norway and Finland. Pours a light golden color with a finger of fizzy white foam and lots of rising bubbles. Nose is doughy malts, corn and a hint of grass. Palate is astrigent with sweet corn and a strange slickness. Bit of grassy bitterness cleans it up but some strange sweetness lingers. Meh

Bottle from Babushka Russian deli in Walnut Creek. It pours a crystal clear golden yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is rather simple with some bread and apple juice. Maybe a hint of spicy hops. The flavor is a little better. No skunk here, with a lot of bread. Not much hop flavor and kind of a bland maltiness as well, but nothing bad. Decent body and mouthfeel. A well made brew, but it lacks style and needs a boost in flavor.

Poured from sloped brown pint bottle into a Willybecher glass. Clear golden colour with thin white head which immediately dissipated, no lasting foam nor lacing. Faint grainy aromas, almost no sign of hops nor yeast. Weak flavours too. Mushy mouthfeel, average carbonation, boring. More like a bland Euro-lager than a classic German Pilsener. Perhaps it’s better fresh, and nearer to the source, but it certainly isn’t worth exporting in my opinion.
