2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500. Pours a hazy pale gold with a loose and sudsy whitish head. Powdered sugar and old wet dish rag on the nose. Watery medium body with somewhat sluggish carb. Shortbread cookie and wet grass on the mid palate. Long nutrasweet finish.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500ml bottle. Pale yellow-tan color. Thin, oily head. The aroma is kind of old and approaches putrid buttery. The body is soft, but the flavor just isn’t there. I’m sure this isn’t the freshest example. Lemony cardboard finish. Not good.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Grassy, hoppy, peppery aroma. Grassy flavor with apple. Thinnish. Grainy aftertaste. Disappointing. Thanks MoritzF for the bottle!

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
No nose to speak, though nothing bad about it. Yellow colo and a spongy head. Sharp pointed hop end that tinges to the center of the tongue. Otherwise nothing in the taste profile to speak of. Thin and dry, watery but somehow balanced.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle: Clear, very pale golden coloured with a small, but stable foamy head. Grassy hops in the nose, some sweet malt and a tinge of iron; almost tart bitter flavour, light bodied; light to medium grassy bitterness and a big metallic tinge in the aftertaste. Unpleasant, the hop extracts rule...! A typical bland "slim" Pilsener in the northern-german style.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
It crazily says "ale" on the bottle, I presume to fit Texas licensing laws, but oh well.... I had a really open mind about this, and with the tradition of German purity laws, even some presumption of quality. I was disappointed. It pours a weak yellow with obvious large carbonation like a mineral water and a reasonably formed, white head. The aroma carries a bit of hops to it but also some grassy, skunky notes--this was a brand-new shipment to Texas, so it is not old. The flavor has a certain sweetness with a residual sticky afterfeel, but early on I reacted most strongly to a metallic twinge lacing across the front flavors. Undistinguished beer, even in its style. At least it didn't have any adjunct flavors--how could it, afterall, when the Purity Laws ensure that all the beer coming from Germany is high quality (dry sarcasm intended).

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft, Willingen, Germany. After a day of skiiing in the German Sauerland, we landed in some restaurant, where they served decent german schnitzels and some beers from this brewery. However, the beer is nothing special. Light yellow color, short white head. Aroma is light hoppy, some wheat. Dry and hoppy taste.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
One of the best German beers as stated by official testings, with a slight bitter aroma, a very fresh appearance and a quite voluminous taste,

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Poured from sloped brown pint bottle into a Willybecher glass. Clear golden colour with thin white head which immediately dissipated, no lasting foam nor lacing. Faint grainy aromas, almost no sign of hops nor yeast. Weak flavours too. Mushy mouthfeel, average carbonation, boring. More like a bland Euro-lager than a classic German Pilsener. Perhaps it’s better fresh, and nearer to the source, but it certainly isn’t worth exporting in my opinion.
