3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 wolfenstein62 (48) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 16, 2010
Not much on the nose, maybe a little raisin. Dark Brown in color with a good retaining head. Starts off with a coffee flavor that turns very bitter before offering some Dark fruit notes. Just Okay. Expected more from this Ale

Dark brown beer w/ a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and bread. Taste is slightly sweet with dark, dried fruit flavors - such as dried apricots or plums. Finish is sweet with more fruit flavor.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mumares (93) - BELGIUM - OCT 5, 2010
33 cl bottle poured in a Westmalle glass. Pours brown with some red notes and a small brown head. Very fruity and sweet nose with some roasted malts as well. Taste is sweet (dark brown sugar) and a bit sour at the same time, however I’d liked some more complex flavours. All in all very drinkable this one, but not the best trappist around.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 SlovakSniper (1154) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 30, 2010

Pours brown with a foamy light brown head. Nose is typical dubbel with a lot of brown sugar and belgian yeast. Flavor is rich and immersed in caramel, brown sugar, abbey yeast, and just a touch of hops and spice. Backside is slightly sticky and quite sweet. This is a very good example of the style.

Bottle from Csakajosor.hu. Poured hazy, with a ruby color and a massive, tan, quick to disappear lacing head. Very good presentation. Plum, yeast, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon in the aroma. Somewhat earthy, with wood cask notes. Dense, oily body with medium carbonation. Long lasting roasty, fruity aftertaste. Very good.

Dark brown colour with a small white head. Roasted malts, caramel, sweet fruits and yeast on the nose. Flavour of fruits and malts with decent roastiness. Full bodied and oily texture. One of the best Dubbels in my opinion. 9+4+9+4+17
750 ml bottle.
Pours a deep amber colour with a very large, beigeish head. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts and dried fruits. Flavour of toasted malts, dried fruits, orange peel, nuts and some bitter hops. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a fruity, malty and light bitter finish. Very nice Dubbel, but I have to drop the points a bit. Too malty.
