A very pretty reddish brown with a foamy off white head. One of the best looking beers you will find. The aroma has the Belgian style essence of fruit and spice. The flavor has the fruit and spice with just enough hops that its not too sweet.

Beautiful darkbrown color, a bit sweet, but with good depth. A true classic. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A goûter à nouveau !!! Mal conditionne car de fortes notes de caoutchouc brulé sont venu perturber les saveurs...

flylikeabanana (158) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 4, 2013
Bottle pours an opaque brown with a medium light tan head. Lively carbonation, good retention, decent lacing. Aromas of plum, toffee, and roasted malt. Tastes sweet up front, raisins, caramel, with a bitter alcoholic finish. Not quite the alcohol-masking I’ve come to expect from abbey dubbels.

Pours a brown color with an off-white head. Flavour is caramel, fruits and hops with a bitty of nuts n spices. One of my favourite Dubbels.

33cl bottle, 1 year overaged. Aromas of gingerbread, raisins, caramel. Brown colour with copper shine. Large foamy beige head, lacing and lasting. Warm full taste. Complex but balanced, herbs, caramel, turning into a bitterness. Sticky mouthfeel, bittersweet finish, some alcohol.

Overall, this double is very agreable, easy to drink. Aroma of caramel malt, raisins and banana. Brown color, medium body, lively carbonation and bitter finish. This beer is medium sweet and bitter, well balanced with notes of banana and something that makes me think of almond-flavoured liqueur.
