A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation. This ale has a full, pale yellow head. The bouquet is full of esters and fruitiness. Notes of ripe banana predominate. The taste is fruity and slightly bitter, with a long, dry finish.

Bottle, 330 ml. Pours deep amber with a finger of creamy tan head. Lacing is significant. Aroma of caramel malts, honey, praline, dark fruits and banana. Taste is based around caramel malts, with notes of citrus, honey, apple, cinnamon, dark fruits and brown sugar. Body is medium to full and carbonation. Slight hint of bitterness on the aftertaste, which also consists of cereal, pepper and honey or caramel. Alcohol is not detectable on either the nose oft he tounge but is pleasantly warming. About the right sort of excellence I’ve come to expect from this sort of beer.

Bottle. Brown pour with a thick, creamy beige head. Dried fruit and soft yeast in the aroma, lots of raisin. Flavour is dark fruits, plum, yeast. Not very heavy mouthfeel, but silky texture and a very nicely balanced flavour.

Pours a dark brown, not transparent at all in the glass, with thick beige head. The first scents are of wet dog, accompanied by some roasted malts, some toffee and the slightest whiff of coffee. Roasted malt hits first on the flavour. Rather thin palate but with nice flavour profile, lingering roasted notes. With some temperature, more dark malty and coffee scents emerge.

Pours a brown color with pillow like tan head. Smells like bread, malts, dark fruit, and leather. Tasted of dominant leather with yeast. The palate is medium ending dry and bitter. Not a bad beer but I need to try more of this style to understand how it should taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2014 Medium light beige head, nice leathery opaque brown reddish colour. Caramel, yeastsm cake, fruits and nuts aromas, with a lil hint of alcohol. This dubbel has moderatly sweet presence compared to the most, which gives it a superb balance, never overwhelmes the actual beer taste. Yeasty and grainy, typical sweet belgian taste, biscuity , malty, bready, bit spiced. Great bittery finish quite long finish. Also more present carbonation for the category in my opinion, which gives this beer a refreshing note and high drinkability for a dubbel. You can definitely spot some similarities with the west tripel

Dark reddish brown color with beige foam. Sweet and intense flavor, like chestnut. Also dark fruits and sweet malts. The fruity flavor leads to an interesting bitter finish.

A 33 cl bottle from Legacy Liquor in Vancouver. A very dark bronze beer with generous tan head. Sweet and fruity on the nose. Taste of apples are first up on the palate. Some burnt sugar background and more apples, a bit of banana. Low bitterness. 3.8.

Bottle 33 cl.
Hazy brown, off-white head. Some fruit, some malt, and some yeast, on a surprisingly shy nose. Nice well balanced flavour, with a slight bitter finish. The balance and the overall impression is very good. Everything is just a bit weak.
