75cl corked bottle. Dark reddish brown colour - medium, soapy beige head with decent lacing. Intense aroma of pineapple, hops and toffee. The pineapple comes trough on the palate, too - which means it’s less sweetish than some other Trappist dubbels (like Chimay). Roasted malts grow stranger as you keep drinking. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Dry hoppy finish and mildly spicy, but lasting, bitter aftertaste. Alcohol (7 %) is well-integrated, and in all other respects, too, this is a superbly crafted and well-balanced beer. Unlike other dubbels, this one seems suitable as a session beer as well. Drink irresponsibly!

Pours clear, medium-chocolate brown with a two-finger khaki head, good and lasting lacing. Aroma of biscuit, toffee, earthy hops, pineapple, banana, and peach. Medium, zesty body, crisp and lightly dry. Deep malt flavor, toast and toffee with some subtle fruit notes, pepper and spice, with a fairly strong citrus finish that is also spicy and lightly bitter. Highly satisfying and drinkable.

Pours a chunky opaque brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a little weaker than I’d hoped for. Aroma does have spice, yeast/bread, and generic fruit, just not robust at all. Flavor is good though: Yeast and malts quickly greet your taste buds upon first sip, then everything fades away to a nutty finish. Rich, hearty mouthfeel. Overall, very good minus.

fantastic sweet malty fruit flavor. thick, mouth coating body with no taste of alcohol. this is the way dubbels are supposed to taste. Bottle at 2nd Annual Treasure Coast Beerfest in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

gusher. cloudy brown, thick foamy yellow-brownish head. very malty aroma, a bit of sourness, with candied fruit -- peach, apricot, apple -- and alcohol. flavor is more balanced, fruit salad and candy throughout, with a very dry yeasty finish. still a bit too much sweet malt though. nice medium body, dry texture.

Bottle. Pours a murky deep amber with a huge creamy tan head. Sweet fruity malt aroma. Rich fruity taste, roasted malt, chocolate, toffee and caramel sweetness, balanced well by some dry hops at the end.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a muddy brown body, no carbonation seen. Small frothy beige head quickly retreating to a lasting ring. Aroma was initially chocolate warming up to some big malty, fruity scents. Light carbonation. Really good fruity flavors with a roasted malty balance. Medium bodied. Long lasting aftertaste. Simply put just a great tasting beer.

Bottle. Pours a murky reddish-brown, small tan head, some lacing. Sweet fruit, malt and a touch of yeast. Semi-sweet fruit, malt and some vague chocolate in the background. Palate is very light and has a nice biting and bubbly carbonation on the tongue, leaving things dry on the finish.
