Why have I always overlooked this beer? With some age I could see this being fantastic. Rochefort like characteristics with a nice lingering fruity finish. Highly recommend this for a common Belgian or any beer for that matter.

La première fois que je l’ai dégusté, j’ai été très déçu. Par la suite, j’ai apprit a l’apprécier, mais je la trouve quand même surévaluée. Selon moi, elle manque de saveurs. Léger goût de caramel et de cassonade.

Humble nose or yeast, alcohol and dark cherries. Dark brown in color with tan creamy head. No lacing at all. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt, and a surprising dark cherry finish that caught me off guard. Oddly reminds me of Dr. Pepper. Medium body in the mouth with a crisp finish. Overall, a good beer. Doesn’t excite me to try other Abbey Dubbels and isn’t quite the stand out. Would like it a little maltier.

Pours dark brown red with large fizzy head which gently settles into a dense almost golden head. Not much lacing though. Caramel, bread and yeast nose. Sweet malty toffee in flavor with a nice dry finish.

Pours a deep ruby brown with a large white seafoam head. Head grew with athoritah. Still waiting for the head to go down. Still waiting. Taste is a miss for me. I want the malt to be able to challenge the yeast on my pallet, but this one is yeast, then malt, and slight funkiness. Flavor is slightly metallic. I’m just not feeling it.
