2 x 10 cl. samples from 75 cl. bottle. Pours a light brown (read:cola) with a very big, very easy, tanned head that hangs around for a long time and leaves a lot of lacing on the sample glass. As expected a complex aroma: Raisins, plums, some light licorice, spicy yeasts, and a light alcohol touch. The initial taste is sweet with notes of raisins and plums. This then goes into light molasses with some spicy yeast on the finish. No or very little alcohol in the taste. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall a very good beer.

This beer pours a nice dark cherry red color with a decent tan head. Aroma is a bit weaker than I remember from a previous tasting, but still very sweet and pleasant aromas of fruits and a bit of malt. Taste is decent enough, bit of fruits such as raisin and cherry with a cellared taste on the end with a bit of creaminess. Overall quite a good beer

Poured from a bottle into a chalice. Appearance is a dark brown with a nice head of khaki colored foam that lingered until the last sip. Aroma is figs, raisins, chocolate, and a touch of coffee. Taste is figs, raisins and chocolate mixing together to create a beautifully palatable beer. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Very nice beer.

En två år gammal flaska. Bronsfärgad vätska med ganska lågt skum. Mest russintoner i doften.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on October 7. Pours deep chestnut brown with a huge light brown head that slowly dissipates leaving some traces on the glass. Smell is very floral, almost perfume-like. It’s sweet and malty with roses and tulips. It also has some lemon hints. Taste is sweet and quite bitter with liquorice, oreganon and ash. It’s also slightly sour with some lemon juice. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is quite light and slightly bitter.

Verdammt nochmal!

I’m trying hard to find this on par with the other big trappistes i’ve tried. But I’m just not getting the same depth as, say, Rochefort. Malty with dark fruit. Medium in mouth with big frothy head that has so far lasted 45mins.
