Stone fruits and caramels are very apparent. Beautiful brown and red color. Raisins and chocolate are there at the finish. Creamy and lively with carbonation that is there but not overbearing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33cl. Pours a thick white head with medium carbonation. Smell: Raisin, plum, Belgian yeast, caramel, and hints of chocolate. Aroma: Dark fruits, caramel, raisin, plum, and toffee. Very long lasting finish.

This is a terrific abbey dubbel. I can’t place my finger on it but I do like Chimay Red better. Could be that I grew up drinking Chimay and have a special place in my bier heart for that grog. I did like this well built brew. Nice head, flavor, mouth feel and aftertaste. Love it!

33 cl bottle. Medium brown, generous beige head, which lasts for a few minutes. Starts quite sour (a little too so) and a little metallic then brown sugar, caramel, raisins. Light bitter finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Very good one. A belgian tasty brown that it is easy to drink, not so usual...

Bottle. Dark brown/ruby, light tan head. Nice lacing. In aroma caramel, banana and bubblegum, brown sugar, dried fruits. In taste sweet, malty, brown sugar, caramel. The beer is full to medium bodied, creamy. The carbonation is low. In the finish low to medium bitterness, some alcohol. The beer is dry. Very good Belgian dubbel.

Ik ben zeker fan van dubbel bieren maar deze vindt ik eigenlijk niet heel geweldig. Hij is redelijk zoet kwa smaak met een wat droge afdronk. Mooie schuimkraag op het bier.

Bottle at Bishops Avenyn. Very nice aroma, and taste of plus and caramel. One of my favourite beers, heavenly good!

Raisin brown color with a big creamy head. Aroma of raisins, dark fruit, spices, toffee, rich caramel. Taste surprisingly light for such a heavy beer, put me in mind of an English brown on steroids. Sweet, some banana notes, toffee, dark brown sugar, noticeable alcohol and some tin, which unfortunately lingers on the tongue. I hate Belgian beers but surprisingly I didn’t hate this. Nice dry finish makes you drink this down quickly, which could be dangerous...
