A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation. This ale has a full, pale yellow head. The bouquet is full of esters and fruitiness. Notes of ripe banana predominate. The taste is fruity and slightly bitter, with a long, dry finish.

Reddish brown with a fluffy head. Malty aroma with some yeast poking through. The normal Belgian yeast esters were there, but not accentuated the way they are in more fully developed beers. It seems like the dried fruits and clove are just floating around with the malt, rather than following it or balancing it. Perhaps I’ve been spoiled by Chimay Red, but I’m starting to look for a bit of sourness in doubles that I’m not finding often.

Bottle from Auchan. Pours dark brown, almost black, with nice head which howecer dissipates pretty quickly. It look basically just like Coca-Cola, but it smells much better: Chocolate, banana, coffee, roast aromas, dark fruits and even a hint of leather. The beer feels super-foamy and creamy in the mouth and has a very nice carbonation. The sweetness and bitterness are very well balanced and the nice, bitter aftertaste stays with you for a long time. Classy! Will drink again.

Barwa ciemno brązowa, wpadająca w bordo, opalizująca. Piana spora, sycząca, średnio i grubo pęcherzykowa, szybko opada do obrączki. Alkohol niewyczuwalny, jedynie delikatne rozgrzewanie w aftertejsie obok przyjemnego posmaku domowego wina głogowego. Wyborny trunek!

Perfect off-white head. It looks delecious. Aroma is sweet, with some roasted malts in the background. Taste, raisins, belgian yeast, caramel, maybe some esters, piney and earthy tones aswell, a bit roasty at the background again. Long aftertaste. I feel the alcohol warming inside. A perfect dubbel imo. Med carbo and med-full body.

This is a terrific abbey dubbel. I can’t place my finger on it but I do like Chimay Red better. Could be that I grew up drinking Chimay and have a special place in my bier heart for that grog. I did like this well built brew. Nice head, flavor, mouth feel and aftertaste. Love it!
