Roodbruin bier, lichtbruine schuimkraag die verdwijnt. Aroma van gist, beetje malt. Verder niet veel bijzonders. Smaak is voornamelijk bitter, alcohol beetje droog, heel licht zoet. Palet niet heel prettig: melig, teveel co2.

Bottle poured into a tulip--First off I uncap the bottle and a little foam rises up and out of the bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thick head. Didn’t really smell anything at first but all of a sudden the smell of grapes hit me almost like grape juice but you have to find it. Lots of bubbles with foam hanging on side of glass. Taste reminds me of a dry wine without out the acidity. I think I now know what people mean by dark fruits. I do not taste any grapes or citrus at all. To me this has no sweetness at all. A medium bodied beer with lots of carbonation. For me its too dry of a beer with a little bitterness added, not quit my flavor but good.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2014 Bottle. Pours dark red brown with a tan head. Aroma: dark fruit, candy sugar, banana, clove. Taste: dark and red fruit, banana, brown sugar, bread, some spices. Pretty sweet, with a hoppy bitterness in the background. Medium body, long dry finish. Excellent value for money (over here)

Butelka 0.75L. Brunatne z drobinami drożdżowymi. Piana skąpa, jasnokremowa, szybko znika. Aromat: bardzo ładny mocno chlebowy, lekko słodki, chleb ciemny ze śliwką, brązowy cukier, rodzynki i wiśnie. Alkoholu nie czuć wcale. Smak: podobnie do aromatu, chlebowo, owocowo bez wyczuwalnego alkoholu. Lekko słodkie i kwaskowate zarazem. Goryczki prawie nie ma. Odczucia: ciało średnie, wysycenie średnie. Świetnie pachnie, przyjemnie się piję, choć jak dla mnie lekko za słodkie. Polecam.

one of those belgians just everyone should get to taste - one of the richest tasting trappists, better drink cellar temp than fridge

Bottle bought at hyper market in Belgium. Dark. Off white head. Highly carbed. Mellow taste - compared to other Belgians I've tried. Nice ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A lovely, dark, white-headed Trappist beer with a fresh start, ripe banana middle & hop laden finish. Rated by BrewTom

Banana-bready, sweet, a little chocolatey. Touch of booze but a nice dry finish given the sweetness midpalate. Reminds me of the banana chocolate chip protein muffin things from Trader Joes, in a good way.

Bottle at Winking Lizard Crosswoods on 4/12/14. Hazy brown pour with a huge tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt, dark fruit and slight banana esters. Malty and spicy flavor giving way to caramel and cherry before a dark fruit and slight alcohol finish.

Poured from a bottle, forming a tall head. Pleasantly sour at the start but it weakened a bit as I worked my way to the bottom. Considering the high 99 rating, I expected more from this beer. It was good; it was not great.
