UPDATED: JUN 5, 2011 My goodness this is one bad-ass dubbel. Deep amber with a moderate head, it’s got a big bready aroma. But what really kills is the combo of the lively mouthfeel - vibrant like a nice blond or tripel - with a deep, complex aroma that combines perky fruits like plums with a nice bite from coriander or cloves. Some might dock this beer because it’s just a shade thin for a dubbel, but I actually think that works in its favor.

Dark brown with two fingers of light tan head. Prune aroma, light but bready sweet malts. Tastes are sweet with a tingly carbonation, caramel, prunes, and a yeasty spiciness.

What a good beer! Pours a dark brown with a tan head that hangs around a good while. It has that blotchy look like a bacterial growth. Flavors are cherry wood, yeast, coffee, dark fruit. Has a very nice zesty feel. Good!

bottle BB 1/23/10... ruby brown pour is opaque from the yeast skittering down the glass. tan head is soapy and soft with some drippy lacing left behind. super malty aroma is packed with fruit especially raisins and warming spices. the flavor reminds me of raisin brioche dusted with cinnamon and clove sugar... fruity, bready, really malty with a straw-like finish yet dry and slightly bitter. nothing really jumps out at me but i could session this... medium body with a slick smooth mouth feel...

This one went down a treat, deep ruby red body with a large tan coloured head, not a strong aroma attached to this at first but it gathers strength as it warms - malt, broth and rich fruit. The taste doesn’t jump out at you but it is very smooth and medium in body, alcohol is pleasant, texture is a little syrupy with all the characters in the aroma presenting themselves well in the taste. Cheers.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy, warm, deep brown with a large fluffy yellow/white head. Light, pleasant aroma of malt, caramel, and a bit of alcohol. Very nice delicate and well-balanced flavors include malt, caramel, and some light fruitiness. Warm alcohol finish.
