Bottled. Pours a clear dark amber with a substantial and lacy off-white head. Medium body and fizzy carbonation. Sweet aroma with fruit, nuts, perhaps a trace of banana? Sweet taste predominated by fruit and malty goodness. Spicy finish.

A dubbel with a good carmel brune sweetness that fades to a nice finish. Good but not my favorite brown ale.

Murky brown with off-white head. Raisins, burnt sugar, plum, alcohol. Fairly weak palate, too sprtizy yet short finish. Overall decent, but I think overrated.

Dark brown colour with a small white head. Roasted malts, caramel, sweet fruits and yeast on the nose. Flavour of fruits and malts with decent roastiness. Full bodied and oily texture. One of the best Dubbels in my opinion. 9+4+9+4+17

750 ml bottle.
Pours a deep amber colour with a very large, beigeish head. Aroma of toasted malts, nuts and dried fruits. Flavour of toasted malts, dried fruits, orange peel, nuts and some bitter hops. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a fruity, malty and light bitter finish. Very nice Dubbel, but I have to drop the points a bit. Too malty.

Bottle. Nice dark brown cloudy body topped with a good off-white foamy head. Superb vineous aroma with yeasty and fruity notes. Enjoyable hoppy taste that perfectly hides the alcohol. It carries various sweet and fruity notes. Ends with a decent and warming bittersweet finish. Excellent Dubbel!

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2004 Original Rating, sometime in 2003. Bottled-Conditioned. Pleasent enough beer Rerating, Jul 12 2004. Rich & dark, this is better than the tripel I believe. This could benefit from a little extra alcohol.
