Pours cloudy brown with red highlights. Medium lasting off white head. Sweet malt & dark fruits dominate aroma. Medium full mouthfeel. Flavour starts sweet, mid is full of dark fruitcake flavours. Slightly citric finish. Nice stuff.

Pours a hazy, browish ruby with a rocky, tan head that doesn’t last too long, but forms a little lace. Raisins and toast take up a lot of the fruity aroma with black currants and hops and some sweet malt. The flavour is quite alcoholic with fruity and woody undertones which give way to a lingering, buttery and nutty toffee. Medium bitterness that is not astringent, though threatens to be at times. Light body and significant carbonation and a very nice finish. Also, warming from the alcohol.

Bottle from Sam’s. Pours very dark amber brown with inch-thick fluffy off-white head. Nose of dark fruits (prunes and figs), some burnt sugar (caramel) and other sweet malt notes. Taste is subtle at first, almost seeming thin... but it’s more that this beer takes its time with you, getting better as it warms. None of the metallic notes that sometimes come through in dubbels. Lovely light and lively palate.

Aroma of dates, sweet smelling but quite dry in flavor. Well balanced and nice, but nothing to rave about.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours chocolate brown with a light tan head. Smell is raisin. Taste is thin, and bland raisins. Tart dark raisin like fruitiness and a touch of burnt bitterness as well. Medium to thin body and normal carbonation.

(Bottle) Pours a brown color with almost no head. Aroma of yeast and some dark fruits. Some malt in the taste. A small amount of alcoholic warming towards the end. A pretty good beer, mellow flavors, but pleasant all around.

Brown, huge tan head. Aroma has nice banana, fig, prune combo. Yeast-bready character in the background. Flavor much the same, banana and fig. Toasty-bready, biscuity malt. Finishes with some light grape. Body is very thin at times, 3 is a stretch. Countless bottles of this, hoping for that mindblowing bottle, just don’t think it is going to happen.
