Overall, this double is very agreable, easy to drink. Aroma of caramel malt, raisins and banana. Brown color, medium body, lively carbonation and bitter finish. This beer is medium sweet and bitter, well balanced with notes of banana and something that makes me think of almond-flavoured liqueur.

One of the better dubbels. Very easy to drink. Bery dark mutky color makes it not as pretty as some, but taste is pretty complete and aroma very pleasant.

Classic example of a Trappist Dubbel. Caramel, raisins, chocolate, dark brown sugar notes without ever being cloying. Highly carbonated but it doesn’t feel harsh. Fruity esters. Like a sessionable barleywine.

Westmalle Dubbel’s aging and complexity really do bring out the goods. With its sediment, brown body, and slightly rocky head, this ale is attractive in the way that only Abbey Ales can pull off. Aroma gives you an idea of the awesomeness to come. Banana, plum, and champagne-like yeast brightness. Flavor has the aforementioned fruits with apple and grape, as well. There’s also a candy-like sweetness and subtle hop tones. Carbonation is just right - not too lively, not flat. Fruity, nuanced, and dry, Westmalle Dubbel is everything you’d want/expect from a Belgian export.

Coloração castanho com espuma clara. Aroma frutado, doce, típico de dubbel. Sabor também característico adocicado mas ao mesmo tempo frutado e alcoolico. Gostei

Bottle. A- Ripe dark fruits, bananas, subtle spice, caramel, champagne. A- Brown color, cloudy liquid, tan head. T- Dark fruits, plum, banana, subtle spice, caramel. P- Medium body, average texture, high carbonation, soft effervescent finish. O- Didn’t live up to the hype for me but a solid beer. Lots of dark fruit flavors and aromas and not overpowering. A little high on the carbonation, and almost felt like drinking soda at times although as it warmed this settled down.

11.2 oz. bottle from Party Time Liquors in Spearfish. Appearance: 2 fingers tan to light chocolate head, copper red color, light cloudy, ok lacing. Aroma: earthy molasses, dark fruitiness, grassy hops. Palate: average carbonation, dry finish, medium body. Taste: sweet malty molasses, into earthy dark fruit sweetness, with grassy hops balancing the sweet, finishing slightly bitter with lingering fruit notes. Overall, very good, super drinkable, amazing balance, very well done beer.
