Fantastic! A real eye opener, great texture and colour with taste to match.

Bottle. Brown appearance with a little bit of yeast visible in the bottom of the glass. HUGE head - enough to make me wonder for a moment, but the wonderful aroma and flavor dispelled any notions that I might have a bad bottle. Very complex taste: Cherries, chocolate, pears, cashew, woodiness all make an appearance in the flavor with apples having a cameo toward the finish. A slightly acidic bite makes the great finish more interesting. Truly a world-class beer. Thank you jbrus!

A very nice, smooth drinking beer. Nice head and ’Belgian Lace’! The yeast spiciness does tend to hide some of the other flavors but I’d still get a case if I could.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2003 This beer has the typical dubbel features: its appearance is nice dark and it has sweet taste. I quite like this Westmalle version of our beloved dubbel beers! When i opened the bottle there was a nice top of foam on the bottle, which looked so nice, appearance was worth a 5!

Nive heavy beer. A classic trappist. A little more easy to drink than eg. Westvleteren. I had this draught, which gives the beer a little more yeast-taste.

Very nice dubbel. Banana/plum/yeast heavy in the nose. Wine/chocolate taste. Hoppy finish. Enjoy!

This pours a very nice amber/brown with a very large white head. Very malty in character with a slight dry finish. Worth seeking out.

On Tap in Paris! Sweet malt and caramel aroma. Dark brown, accompanied by a medium sized toffee head, with some lace. Lovely full caramel/malt taste. Well balanced, complex and smooth as silk. Gorgeous!
