Brown with a off white head. Smells like bubble gum and some other smells I can’t put my finger on. The smell of this offering is absolutely amazing. Definately on of the better smelling beers I have had. Texture: creamy with bubbles and fizz. It is hard to describe what this tastes like. The portioning is outstanding. So many flavors at mild levels it all mixes together to form something great. I find it hard to pick out individual flavors. I tasted chocolate, raisin, some fruit taste. It even has tasty belches. When you belch and it tastes good you know it is good. I paid $5 for a 12 oz bottle. Man if this wasn’t so much money I would drink this heavily.

Healthy lasting tan head. Plenty of carbonation, a nice ruby red color. Rich full flavor, tastes of red grapes, maybe some plums. Very fruity taste, only hints of alcohol come through. Finishes nice and sweet.

This brown ale pours with a substantial tan head, eliciting a pleasant malty aroma. Starts with a heavy fruit and malt flavor, with a yet stronger candy and citrus finish. Very well balanced with just the right amount of carbonation.

This brew is even better the trippel because it avoide the dreaded PB taste of the later with it’s high alcohol content. It’s great. Very ripe... a lot like the delerium tremens. A great drink.

This beer pours a deep brown color with a LARGE tan head that dissaptes fairly quicky. Smell of cheries and raisins. flavors of grapes and raisins that is quite smooth! This is a very drinkable beer! And this was a nice find here in Dallas! Cheers!

12 oz. bottle marked 07/02/08, I have no idea how old it is. Appearance is a dark-reddish brown with a small head that sticks around pretty well but is not more than a centimeter high. The smell of this beer reminded me of grapes and red wine and me anticipate the taste even though I don’t drink wine…. The taste is delicious but doesn’t quite match up with the smell but that is ok. It is also thick and hard to describe. It’s dark and fruity but not really spicy at all, maybe some nuttiness. Good bubbly carbonation and very easy to drink, this is a nice beer. Both beers I have had so far from Westmalle have been delicious but I enjoyed this more than the tripel and I wish I had bought more than one. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-07-2007 17:54:53

Bottle. Dark brown colour with large lasting head. Nice aroma of chocolate and caramel. Sweet flavor of caramel, chocolate and nice aftertaste. One of my favorite beers.

Bottle, poured into trappist glass. Pours a beautiful dark mahogany with red, russet, and purplish highlights. Big tan head, very rocky, with tight carbonation. Nose is out of this world: first raisins, ripe plum and apricot, a bit of caramel and brown sugar. Brandy-soaked figs, Belgian yeast, a bit of cognac as it warms. Taste is slightly mellower, with more raisin, actual grape, hints of earthiness and an effervescent mouthfeel. I’ve had quads that aren’t as flavorful as this.
