Pours dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is a mouthwatering blend of bruit (berry) with a slight hint of spice. Flavor is delicious. Prune/raisin flavors mix perfectly with nuts and a slight bitterness.

Color brown much dark one. Cremamy foam of optimal persistence. Much dense one and with a strong and sturdy body. Bitter with a fruit aroma and alcohol.

I actually liked the tri better, but the dubbel still has a good bit of complexity to offer. This one is nice and creamy on the palate (finishes dry), produces the big rocky whtie Belgian head we have all come to know and love and of coarse has that fruity Belgian yeast flavor which offers darker fruity notes such as apricots, as well as tropical fruts such as bananas. Very good beer!

Pours a deep brown with a tan head that faded to a thin cap on the beer that lasted right down to the final sip. The aroma here is intense and variable: my first attempt was all dark fruit, dominated by raisin. Second go of it found some yeasty spiciness, while the third was sweet and malty. The taste is similar. The flavors are layered one on top of another, but in a noticeably subtle way: one sip brings roasty malts and caramel, with a spiciness in the finish. The next brings dark fruits and a fading bitterness at the sides of the tongue. As for mouthfeel, the carbonation here is lively upon first digging in, and fades as the beer sits and warms. It is more drinkable at the beginning but easier to appreciate the flavors at the end - both work to admirable goals, and never is the beer watery in the slightest - even acquiring a distinct creaminess as it warms.

33cl Bottle. Pours a nice redish brown. I enjoy trappist beers but prefer to only have one or two, but I could drink this all night. Very well balanced and complex. Its a shame this is only a seasonal release at the LCBO.

This is definately the best Dubbel I’ve ever experienced. Balanced is the name of this... all the way from aroma to finish. Outstanding hazy dark red color and semi-sweet aroma leads to balanced mild fruit taste and slightly more carbonation than the traditional. Wow!

Excellent beer, no doubt about it. Fruity but still bitter and long lasting
