Deep reddish mahogany, bit puffy white head slides downward to form a brownish, creamy film. Great nose, chocolate covered cherries, raisins, and prunes. Quite tasty, chocolate, dark fruit, lots of candy sugars. Richly sweet in the finish, leaves a nice aftertaste hanging about. Almost enough to make me rethink my less-than-spectacular opinion of dubbels.

A soft fruity and still-baking bread nose with a bit of an oak barrel alcohol aroma. Very complex taste as I expected with a very, very smooth finish. I poured the entire contents into my brandy glass and was surprised at how much the yeast at the bottom resembled tobacco bits. I pledge to have this on tap at least once in my lifetime.

Full tan head, and a bittersweet odor hiding a hint of caramel, all of which caries directly into the flavor of this cloudy amber/brown mana. A slightly bitter finish fades to toasty goodness and seems to round out well overall. Definitely one to revisit and try variously aged versions.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2007 deep, deep cloudy dark ruby mahaogany colour with a lively rich foamy off white fawn head which dissipates but still laces. Rich and fruity. Complex, full mouthfeel. Caramel/berries/malty biscuits are all in there. Surprised so many on here say that alcohol is well hidden. I thought that it was well obvious. Thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely not a session brew, but - duh! - guess you know that.

Malty with raisin, honey, molasses and vanilla aroma. Nice amber with a light brown head. You taste alcohol and spicy peppery malt. Kicks on the tongue and has a long lasting finish. Nice...!

Red/brown colour. Good lasting head. Aroma is pleasantly yeasty. Flavour is balanced and a little dry. Good long aftertaste with some bitterness. A very pleasant acquaintance.

WOW mighty head, frothy and cream colored, very tightly packed. Sweet floral nose. This beer covers a wide spectrum of taste and delivers with deep complexity. silky smooth The sweet floral notes fade into a nuttiness, followed by a tasty toasty finish. It left me wanting three or four more chances to rate it right away, just to try and spit out everything that happens.
