COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation. This ale has a full, pale yellow head. The bouquet is full of esters and fruitiness. Notes of ripe banana predominate. The taste is fruity and slightly bitter, with a long, dry finish.

Pretty good. The bottle I had was none too spectacular however. Just a good, full-bodied dubbel, nothing you couldn’t find in a regular old Duvel though.

0.33 l bottle. Pours clear brown colour with a medium head. Aroma has chocolate. Taste has also chocolate with warm smooth taste of malts. This is really not sweet but not bitter either.

33cl bottle. Very dark ruby-brown pour with a tall beige head. Chocolate, dried fruit, grapes, caramel, overripe banana. Dry finish, medium body with medium to hight carbonation and a lively chocolate-bitter aftertaste.

Mörk brun färg. Malt, kryddor, torkad frukt, jäst. Smakar mycket men lent och är relativt lättdrucken. Mycket god ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dried fruits, malts, reddish with a huge and persistant tan head, medium body, medium carbonation, bitter for the hops, spices and malts, fruits in the aftertaste...a solid dubbel, not the best for me but this is trappist quality.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 24th July 2016 and poured into a Chimay goblet glass. It poured a dark brown colour with a slight reddish hue and a two finger beige head that slowly settles to a nice thin but creamy puffy layer while leaving nice curtain lacing. Strong dark fruit aromas with cherry, plum, prune, raisin, grape and a hint of banana, toffee and caramel in the background. Some toffee and caramel flavours before a blast of lightly sweet dark stone fruits, cherry, plum, grape, fig and raisin. Dry, medium to full bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Overall an excellent Dubbel, excellent beer. Nice complexity and balance in the aromas and taste and is definitely a must buy beer for me.

This is my first Belgium beer. Malty smells with interesting yeast spice. Complex tastes of both malts and yeast. Lovely texture. I will elaborate further after another, ( note to self)

Bottle. Dark brown colour with small lasting head. Aroma is fruity yeasters, mostly pear, dried fruits and som malty notes. Taste is the same, but dominated by the malt. A good dubbel, but not the best....

0,33l bottle out of Craftbeer Calendar. I hate it when a beer foams over on opening the bottle....Anyhow, the beer is malty, accompanied by a nice fruitiness and followed by a lightly bitter finish. Well-balanced, the alcohol is not noticeable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
