COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation. This ale has a full, pale yellow head. The bouquet is full of esters and fruitiness. Notes of ripe banana predominate. The taste is fruity and slightly bitter, with a long, dry finish.

A bottle from Jason’s in the basement of 101, drunk at home. Aroma: malty, caramel. Appearance: dark, verging on black. Minimal tan head remains throughout. Palate: full bodied and creamy, soft carbonation, long finish. Taste: very complex, malty, there’s some fruit in there at the end. I do believe this one actually tastes better than the tripel, but without the alcoholic kick. Lovely stuff.

Kolor ciemno rdzawy z rubinowym błyskiem, mętne. Piana obfita i utrzymująca się. W zapachu banan, karmel, rodzynki, czekolada. W smaku słodkie, głównie suszone owoce, banan, wiśnie, rodzynki, goździki, trochę przypieczonego ciasta, toffi i czekolady. Lekko odczuwalny też likierowy alkohol. Niska kwaśność owocowa. Pełne i bogate.

Bottle (and plastic glass in a Talys to Amsterdam : damn I love Belgium/Netherlands). Big creamy head, strong carbonation : a 1cm head lasted all along the drink! First nose is fruit, then caramel and dried fruit, but malt overall and a bit sour. Medium and long lasting bitter. It’s one of the dubbel defining dubbel style, so yes... it’s a must drink!

Pullotettu 24.8.2011 ja parasta ennen 24.8.2013. Reilut 3 vuotta vanhaa tavaraa siis tarjolla. Keskiruskea samea olut hyvin pienellä ja nopeasti katoavalla vaahdolla. Maltaisen karamellinen, luumuinen ja tumman hedelmäinen tuoksu. Maultaan täyteläisen maltainen, makean karamellinen ja tumman hedelmäinen. Pehmeä kokonaisuus ja hiilihappoisuus selvästi taittunut ikäännyttämisen myötä.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2016 Weinig aroma, bevat toetsen van gist, malt, beetje fruitig, noot. De smaak is fruitig en (artificieel) zoet, kruidig, caramel en koffie duidelijk aanwezig. Spijtig genoeg overheerst het zoete.

Aroma is dry, bananas, figs, wood, super dry, bitter. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head, hazy. Taste is dry, spice, wood, dark fruit, banana, bitter malt, robust even. Mouthfeel is medium body, light crisp carbonation, dry dark fruit and bitter malt aftertaste. Overall, this is good for a dubbel.

Pours brown with medium head. Aroma is caramel, cinnamon, croissant, fresh pie, some yeast. Taste is quite bitter, sweet, raisin, dried cherry, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, caramel, some spices. Little bit more carbonisation than in average Belgian beer. Quite good one!
