COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A reddish brown trappist ale, malty and fruit, featuring a 3 week secondary fermentation. This ale has a full, pale yellow head. The bouquet is full of esters and fruitiness. Notes of ripe banana predominate. The taste is fruity and slightly bitter, with a long, dry finish.

Bottle, 1 year aged - Reddish brown pour with great head. Aroma is yeasty, not much else going on. Taste of toasted cereal and yeast, good carbonation and mouthfeel. Not the greatest Belgian.

Courtesy of bartlebier, thanks a lot. Earthy mineral aroma, some white pepper, warming up to some fruitier notes, roasted malts showing up, very well hidden abv, great drinkability with more roasted malt flavours, under layers of ripe sour cherries leaning into marzipan with a hint of bitter almonds, ending with a subtle sourish note over a layer of earthy peppery yeast aromas. Beautiful.

Bottle (€ 3). BB 9-12-2015. Very murky and dark reddish brown colour with expectedly massive beige head. Retains, laces. Nose is very sweet, caramelised sugar, nondescript fruits (kinda like tutti-frutti), plum skin, yeast and malts, a note of alcohol too. Later acquires a gluey note. Taste is caramel and toffee sweet, dark fruits, a kind of plum wine note there, bubblegum, malts, alcohol only hintingly present, mixed in with those plum wine notes. Quite some bitterness too, increasing in the finish. More bitter as it warms. Dry on the palate, body and carbonation just right. Good drinkability despite the 7%. It’s among my favourite widely distributed beers.

Sweet, dark, strong and fruity. Allround 'dubbel' beer, nothing bad can't be said about this one...

Bottle @ Chang Thong Thai, Brugge. Dark with a sugary-fruit aroma and taste. It’s quite sweet, but with some roasted malts and a few more smooth tasting ones.

Bottle from waitrose. Deep ruby with a residual head. Aroma is alcohol, raisins a bit of spicy ginger. Taste is initially sweet with alcohol warmth and subtle bitterness following. Over carbonate for me, kills the body and spoils the drink, was a bit better at room temp.

Pours dark amber with fluffy tan head. Caramel aroma. Medium mouthfeel well carbonated. Slightly boozy taste with fruit, plum and raisins. Very drinkable
