3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, another great session @ yespr] Huge fine bubbly white head that mostly lasted. Light cloudy orange – yellow colour. Good display of lacework. Aroma of orange peel, citrus, fruit, hint of dusty grain, straw. Initial sniff gives the impression of a very fresh ale. Over the palate a very citrus and floral feel. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Well balanced between the sweet and acidic flavour. Light citrus like sweet finish with a lingering floral touch. Excellent and very drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by puzzl. Poured brigt gold with large fluffy white head. Aroma was very yeasty, full of spice, and I thought I caught some lactic sourness in there as well. Color me intrigued. Taste is more hoppy than I had expected, along with more of the yeastiness. A little astringent as well. Overall a pretty good beer. I can see why the monks would drink this regularly.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Joris, shared with MaxxDaddy. Beautiful lightly filtered golden pour with a fantastic, wheat-beer like head. Deeply complex aroma, strong in belgian yeasts, earthy hops, light pineapple, coconut. A bit of a bite in the flavor is the only real flaw in this beer. Extremely drinkable, a very creamy, smooth palate, perfect carbonation. Nice complexity in the flavor, as well. Great stuff.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy golden in colour, suspended floaties, medium sized white coloured head, some lacing. The aroma is of very light yeast, apples, pears, perfumy, some oranges. The flavour is yeasty, floral, creamy with lots of fruit and a medium bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, floral and yeasty. Pretty good stuff. A bit on the lighter side but I really liked the fruit coming out of this one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Light unclear medium to dark yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, grapefruit, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Very nice beer like a mix of a light tripel and a light orval, complex and easy to drink. ;o)) (190907)

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2007 A Mes rate:
Another rare trappistentreat in a table watery type way. Sadly this was not on such good form as the Orval. Looks great, well it did until all the floaters got poured in. Creamy dusty nose with some cardboard and showing a bit of alcohol with its older age. Metallic flavour and some oxidisation. Some way past its best unfortunately. I’m sure one day I will get a fresher sample so I may re-rate properly. As it was it had the character of a light tripel and the tired old dog that it was, it was still an enjoyable experience.
