330ml bottle. Next to clear, golden body. Firm white head, laces well. Fruity smell of pear and lemon, mid-dry. Dusty hops, pear and sweet citrus followed by a little tart basement touch to the finish. Feels a bit thin in the mouth and on the swallow. Okay without further excitements (thanks to Yngwie, shared with other ratebeerians at Cunningham’s place, Halden 14.02.2014).

Smaak net hetzelfde als de Westmalle Tripel, alleen zonder die krachtige afdronk en het warme gevoel van de alcohol. Voor de rest één op één als de Tripel. Lekker als tussendoortje.

330ml bottle, poured into a Westmalle Trappist glass. Appearance is cloudy straw colored with a medium sized foamy off-white head that reduced quickly, and left some lacing. Aroma of lemon peels, herbs and a hint of banana. Flavours of lemon peels, herbs, banana, wheat bread and spices. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Palate is light bodied, oily texture and lively carbonation. A light and refreshing Trappist Patersbier.

0,33l fles bij de specialiteitenwinkel tegenover de bierschuur. Mooiegoudgele blonde met een bescheiden witte kraag. Licht troebel met gistdeeltjes. Geur is pilsmout met hoparoma. Smaak is bitterzoet vol en kruidig. Lekkere blonde die je niet vaak tegenkomt

Short: A grassy hoppy saison with big pear like Saison Dupont

Origin: 330mL from Encinitas Ale House Size: 5oz Glass: Westmalle Chalice Price: ~$8 Date: 1/18/14
Long: Low haze, bright golden pour with heavier sediment to watch out for. Nose brings fresh pear, mild white sugar, yellow squash, older cellar notes of dusty yeast and attic. Taste is squashy noble hop, light bodied, pear, grassy. Saison like aeration and quenching. Bitter, lightly hoppy aftertaste- flashes of celery. Light and drinkable. Saison Dupont like, would fit into the saison category perfectly.
Flaws: Difficult to find, more of a quenching saison best very fresh and on tap
Skill Level: High
