May 2, 2009 33cl bottle poured into a Westmalle Trappist glass. Cloudy orange with three finger head. Smells fruity, kind of like cotton candy or bubble gum. Sweet tasting with a lot of hoppy undertones. You can really taste the alcohol in this one. Palate is really smooth with a bit of carbonation. Not a bad aftertaste but you can tell you’ve been drinking alcohol. Can’t drink it all the time but a good beer.

Apr 30, 2009 Bottle poured to glass. Aroma is of fruity esters like apricots. Yellow opaque brew with white head. A bit of alcohol in the palate. Tingly carbonation on the tongue. Effervescent!! Maintained fine head for entire glass. Fermented very dry but sweetness remains.

Apr 25, 2009 Updated: Aug 28, 2009This is THE tripel. Ignore those who say ’not the best out there...’. (as if there are any others ’out there’) A slight sweetness, very bitter and strong. Difficult to love this drink, perhaps, but delicious for those whose taste buds have yet to be corrupted by newer, sweeter tripels. At its best, I think, a couple of years old (much drier).

Apr 23, 2009 Hazy and active. Yeast and spice in the aroma. Malty to start, then the spice and slight hops kick in, citrus and spice lead to a lovely dry finish. This one’s for Steve, April 2009. This is already one of the world’s great beers, now it has eternal sentimental value as well.

Apr 23, 2009 750 ml. Cloudy yellow pour with huge white head. Highly carbonated- head overflowed the bottle. yeasty aroma with hops and malt. taste is yeasty, very slght sweetness and a dry aftertaste and mouthfeel. Alcohol is well-hidden.

Apr 22, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours hazy orange. Head is like none I’ve ever seen. Literally took 20 minutes for it the subside. Maybe the bottle was too warm. Lacing is godlike. Spicy aroma, mixed with some darker fruits. Dry, yeasty finish, good carbonation.
Probably my second favorite trappist behind ABT12. Very good beer.

Apr 22, 2009 33cl bottle, poured yellow with big med thickness head. Nice head, very nice looking beer. Arome is fresh hops. Quite fruity and citrusy. Head as a good retention. Finish is quite dry and warm. Not very fruity (unlike aroma suggested). Mainly spicy and bitter. Quite interesting brew. Rating #89
