Westmalle Tripel

Bottle. Pours an opaque orange color. Aroma of citrus and lemon zest. Flavor is strong on the malts, sweeter aftertaste. Good beer

bottle, pours hazy light orange. Light citris hop aroma, some alcohol. Light malt and some sweetness ending very dry with a good hop bite. Moderate alcohol burn.

Upon first sip, my first word was "Whoa!". Great flavor, good aroma, strong malty flavor. Once again, the Belgians have produced another winner.

Has a sour bitter beer smell with some florals. Pours a slightly hazy apple juice color with minimal white head and some action. Mouthfull of flavors including pale malt, maybe some wheat, and some grapefruit/lime hop taste with a hint of sourness, butter, and alcohol warming. Medium bodied, resinous and buttery, with a crisp carbonation. Another fine product from the Trappist Monks, cheers.

Great trappist that someone brought to a party, but didn’t realize it wasn’t a quick drink beer. Dirty gold pour and white head. Tart and sour fruit aroma. Sweeter flavor with a bitter dry taste. Alcohol complements the finishing flavor better than the beginning.

Aroma contained plenty of apple vinegar and even a little yeast. Thin creamy head with some flecks as well in this pour. Flavor was sour apple vinegar, grapes and maybe raisins. Palate was fizzy and lively. A good tripel that has much in common with some sour ales.

Bottle. Slightly unclear golden body. White medium sized head. Sourish aroma, without yeast. Quite sharp. Sweet flavour, relatively fresh with sourish hints. Can feel the alcohol in the finish. (Gollem, Amsterdam, 08.12.08)

Bottle. Golden colour with a long lasting huge white head. Aroma is sweet banana, apricot and yeast. Flavor is slightly bitter, dry fruit, yeast, acidic and with a little to much alcohol. A good tripel though.
