Don’t remember much about it other than I drank it out of a trappist glass. Straling (185), Heerlen, Netherlands

Pours a muddy golden colour with a great size head and good carbonation.
Have the original glass and it’s beautiful!
Smell is sour and spicy, also some hops there.
Taste is a great balance of yeast, hops, fruits and spices.
A very good abbey tripel and almost as good as the dubbel. NomDeBeer (399), Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 28, 2008 Aroma is bread and spicy yeast. Pours with a large rocky white head, hazy gold color. Taste is lemon, cloves, grass, yeast, and a nice hoppiness. Alcohol is noticable, but not overwhelming. Light to medium body. Nice lacing. Drinkable and good, but not worth the price. tarheels86 (723), Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 28, 2008 330 mL bottle. Pours a hazy bright yellow like a witbier or good tripel. Giant, white head that stays around. Yeast particulates throughout even though I withheld pouring in the yeast sediment. Very low carbonation. Aroma is slightly grassy but with lots of yeast, coriander, orange peel, bananas, and alcohol (9.5%). Sort of like a double witbier. Taste is similar with an addition of cloves and a dry finish of spicy hops, yeast, and warming alcohol. A good tripel- similar to Chimay. michael-pollack (2642), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 28, 2008 330ml Bottle: Aroma of grass, herbal hops, yeast, and slight fruit. Poured deep yellow/light orange in color with a medium-sized, dense white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Much lighter in color than most Tripels I have had. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malts, alcohol, spices, and yeast. Light to medium body. Fizzy texture. Lively carbonation. Yeasty, sweet, boring finish. jmm635 (254), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Pours a hazy bronze color with a nice, rocky white head. Strong citrus aroma with a little grassy hops. Nicely balanced flavor of citrus (orange), yeast, alcohol. Medium-bodied, easy to drink with a lasting finish. CIPS514 (77), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Not as impressive as the dubbel but still a decent trappist ale. It felt forced to be a tripel which inhibited a great natural flavor. Still a good beer. Best served in a trappist glass served by a large breasted bartendress. EricE (450), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Hazy light straw colored pour with a thick white head and lots of yeast floating around. Fruity aroma with spice and lots of yeast. Very bitter with cloves and yeast and lots of alcohol.
