Oct 25, 2008 Nice white head. clear straw yellow colour. relatively weak aroma. Very bitter with spicy, crispy hops. Rolls back with a massive malty bisquity finish and lots of warmth. Lingering but somewhat brutal finish with elements of grass and straw.

Oct 25, 2008 Pours a cloudy lemony wheat color with a massive pillowy white head. Beautiful lacing, little bubbles streaming up the side. Quite a stunning site. Aroma first hits as a bit sour apple and dry, but get malty and citrus as it warms. Taste is crisp and dry, nice malt presence comes through with a spicy hop bite and a hint of citrus. Finishes a little bitter and dry, very good.

Oct 22, 2008 Really liked this one. Not my favorite among trappists but at the same time I only got a small sample at the Cyclone Liquors’ tasting in Ames. Delicious notes of caramel, toast, smoke, and malt complemented by that unforgettable and indescribable complex trappist aroma. Nice job!

Oct 22, 2008 Golden brown with a moderate to light head. Aroma of yeast, marshmallows, and bananas with a hint of spice. Full bodied with a warming but not too pronounced alcohol background. Flavors abound with fresh fruit esters and malt most prominent with little hop flavor. Spice is there, vanilla, marshmallows, a touch of nutmeg and ginger. A lovely blend of flavors that is so balanced for a triple. One of the best Trappist triples.

Oct 22, 2008 Updated: Jan 25, 2009(bottle) pours a lightly hazy golden colour with a huge frothy white head. very subtle but complex aroma of fresh yeast, spicy hops and bubble-gum, with notes of banana, apples and vanilla. flavour is similar, with dominant grassy hop spices and alcohol. strong body and carbonation, bitter finish, a nice summer-sipper.

Oct 21, 2008 I got this beer at world market of all places for about $7. Good appearance, a nice creamy body and smooth lasting head. A nice spicy aroma of banana and citrus, good Tripel aroma. Good initial flavor with a nice balance of alcohol. The finish is a little bitter but an excellent beer.

Oct 20, 2008 Pours a beautiful straw color, slightly hazy with a nice head, and a lively carbonation. The aroma is floral and spicy, very pleasing. The flavor is a nice combination of mellow hops, spicy yeast notes, sweet fruitiness and citrus. The beer is wonderfully complex, quite solid, an excellent Belgian worth going back to again and again.

Oct 18, 2008 Nice aroma very floral. Notes of grassy hops and light caramel malt. Great head retention. Nice yellowish gold color hazy. Flavor is quite tart bitter, nice alc burn. Notes of citrus banana, orange. The spice adds a nice touch. Very good tripel.
