Sep 24, 2008 Abbey Tripels are easily one of my favourite beer styles. This one reminds me why. Pours of cloudy gold with an impressive white head. Fruity and spicy aroma and flavour with some notes of yeast and bread. Hoppy, yeasty aftertaste. Quite and flavourful and well balanced beer. Alcohol is well hidden.

Sep 21, 2008 Tasted is in conjunction with Orval. It lost the contest. is very drinkable for a > 9% brew, however. Aroma was slight, surprisingly. Seemed yeasty and balanced. Grassy taste that lingered briefly.

Sep 20, 2008 11.2oz in bordeaux glass. Towering white head on deep gold with streaming fine bubbles. Fresh grape and bubblegum are dominant aromas. Sweet, warming, distantly grainy, even more distantly spicy. Uncannily reminiscent of my homebrew Delirium clone, which used the Westmalle yeast....

Sep 20, 2008 330ml bottle. 11/07/07 date on bottle. Poured a clear gold in color with a massive beige head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bread, yeast, light spices and light fruity notes. Taste is spiced, light fruity notes, yeasty, bready with some citrus.

Sep 20, 2008 Poured from bomber, fifth beer in tasting series. Appearance is a murky gold-orange with a crisp white head. Aroma is of light fruit, and a strange bit of plastic. Flavor features notes of dry champagne, tart fruit, green grapes and sugar-candy. Finishes slightly bitter, with hints of grass and alcohol. Overall, this brew is a solid example of this style, but does not possess the balance of say, Allagash Tripel.

Sep 17, 2008 Amazing aroma. Color was also a great golden and a bit cloudy color. Out of 12oz bottle. A bit of astringancy / acidty and almost sour that hits the mid in a weird way, though this dicipated after a couple minutes, I’m guessing the palate adjusted. Lived up to the hype, classic belgium texture filled it later. But the aroma, some salt, butter, hint of burnt sugar way in the back. Something to behold.

Sep 16, 2008 Bottle. Poured into a trappist glass. Poured a cloudy gold color with a three finger sparse white head. Aroma was spicy with a tinge of yeast. Flavor reflects the aroma with abundent spices and a sweet base. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium/full bodied with mild carbonation.

Sep 15, 2008 Very good beer. Murky golden color. Nice size foamy wide head. Excellent lacing. Aroma of yeast and spice.
Great mouth feel on this one. Starts of creamy and sweet, some soft carbination. Lots of yeast and spice on the back end. Touch of dryness.
