LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle. GUSHER! Pours a cloudy light orange with a huge, thick, foamy white head that leaves nice lacing on a Westmalle glass. Aroma of spcies (particularly clove), lemon/citrus zest, and the typical tripel skunk. Tastes like...a tripel! Lots of Belgian yeast and spices, maybe some cinnamon. As the beer warms some light fruits (especially apple) come out, but you really have to search for it. Mostly the beer is dominated by spices. Pretty drinkable as the 9.5% isn’t noticed in the flavor or palate. Probably my favorite tripel, although this style is one of my least favorite. yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Jul 2, 2008 Westmalle Tripel is a cloudy dim golden ale with many big particles and a huge lumpy, foamy white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. It has a spicy barnyard aroma. It smells like a saison to me. There are hints of fruit and possibly licorice and hay. It is medium bodied, a bit foamy, very smooth and the finish is clean. The flavor is peppery and leathery. It is spicy like clove and coriander. There is a grassy aspect to the taste. The flavors are very well blended. It’s a solid Tripel, but I was expecting something to knock my socks off. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Jun 29, 2008 Not really impressed. Cloudy yellow with a moderate head. Aroma is citrus, spices, wheat malt. Taste has a bitterness that does not really compliment the malt. It is drinkable but I expected more. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pretty good. Complex, extremely full bodied flavor. Very spicey with some yeast and citrus fruitiness. Nice bitterness all through the taste. Alcohol and hops show up slightly in the finish. Highly drinkable. Highly carbonated, large head. TheSponge (272), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Jun 28, 2008 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy orange/yellow, with a thick long lasting head. Citrusy with some slight spice notes....you can definitely taste the yeast with this one as well. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA Jun 27, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a nasty hazy orange with floaties. Huge long lasting white head. Nose of spice, alcohol and yeast. Flavor is ridiculously bitter. Very unbalanced. Tons of alcohol in there thats not hidden at all. An overated beer if I ever saw one, and probably one of the worst tripels I’ve ever had, and I’ve had alot. azlondon (656), Fribourg, Switzerland Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2008Appearance: Light golden, a bit cloudy.

Info: 330ml bottle, 30/8-2005, 6/300, 3/500 markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 This is a great Tripel. It pours a golden cloudy yellow color with a tiny white head. It has notes of caramel and apple in the aroma with yeast as well. Sweet and tangy in the taste, this is a good tripel, no surprises as it finishes dry, but with a twinge of apple.
