Gypsy19 (603), California, USA Sep 24, 2009 Pours a cloudy light orange with a large white head. Aroma is quite fruity (light fruits) with nice spice, also yeast. Yummy flavor of fruit and spice again, licorice, yeast, a little rye too. Nice bold flavor doesn’t leave me yearning. Good funky, citric-acid aftertaste. Rich mouthfeel, upper-medium viscosity. One of the best tripels I’ve ever had, simply. Near the apex of this style. Overall, excellent plus. bluebetty (92), Australia Sep 24, 2009 Bottle. Poured a cloudy orange with a strong slightly off-white head. Aromas of malt spicy and some fruit. Great mouthfeel with pleny of spice some hop bitterness and definately some candi sugar sweetness. Great beer. patrickfannon (274), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy orange gold with a white, pongent head. Aroma of sweet fruits, spice, raisins, and clove. Firm body with a bitter finish. Very tasty tripel. reverendj (34), Brunswick, Georgia, USA Sep 17, 2009 Thanks to Peggy for the hint! Frothy head that reminds me of beaten egg whites. Spicey aroma with hints of apple, yeast, and sourdough. Very nice flavour without all of the added spices. As a hophead, I liked the bitterness. This will be a repeat purchase! redave (133), squaw valley, California, USA Sep 14, 2009 Thin Frothy white head, had to hold back on the pour, [large goblet wine glass].
Very golden slight amber color.
Aroma, OK, gotta say it... kinda like cider at first, very fruity. Then some spiciness.
Very champagne-y, light, airy, lots of carbonation. Very complex. Clearly one of my favorite Trappist Tripels! Maybe some banana?
did i say complex? some hop bitterness spiciness...
I definitely get a nose of apple.
interesting complex aftertaste
good stuff, cant remember how much i paid for this, dated almost 1 year old... mkel07 (494), Brisbane, Australia Sep 12, 2009 330ml bottle. Huge frothy deep and dense white head sitting atop an amber to copper hazy base. Strong spiced fruit aromas waft from the glass, sweet and inviting. Well carbonated and lively in the mouth with a warmth that spreads through the mouth and you can feel the strong alcohol content. wkalle (110), Sweden Sep 9, 2009 Pours orange amber with a slight chill haze which slowly dissapear while the beer warmsw up to serving temperature. The head is fluffy white and long lasting with excellent lacing. A fresh spicy and malty aroma. Flavor is also spicy with a faint orange background flavor. Long lasting and warming aftertaste. SorenE (110), , New Zealand Sep 9, 2009 great tripel, travels better to NZ than most beers but still not as good as in Europe.
